Well look at that!! I did learn something from the Master after all 😅😎. My first attempt at a patch and I think even Gus would approve 😎.

Updated post:
Breakaway Sports is in transition- not closing 😅
After rereading my post I can see where the confusion is happening.
Currently, I am waiting on a repair to my sharpener, which should be happening today, then we will be doing skates again!
Please watch this space and our website for updates to the status of the machine. Thanks again to all of our loyal customers for your continued support!

To my valued customers:

While I was away dealing with my mother’s failing health and then her death, my manager/ repair person quit without telling me. So, on top of the family tragedy, I am faced with the closure of this business.

All I can do is apologize for this huge inconvenience and loss to the hockey community, as I was proud to try and carryon Gus’s legacy. Unfortunately, he was Breakaway, and without him, we failed to be able to service his customers to the level you all were accustomed to.

For now, I will be at the shop from 10 - 4 to return any equipment that we have of yours. We are trying our best to contact you all to please come retrieve your gear.

On behalf of my family, I would like to thank you all for the great run that we did have, and all the best in your future hockey seasons.
Sincerely,
Fran Thorson and family
