✨5 things I wish I knew before I started training✨

Warm up routines are often viewed as optional. But they are SO SO important before your training session. injuries and imbalances can arise going straight into a lift and not taking the few extra minutes to perform some dynamic stretching. 🧘‍♀️

Nutrition is what fuels your workouts. I used to skip meals, train fasted, always chasing that deficit. Unfortunately I found zero success with this…. Choosing the right pre and post workout meals to fuel your goals. My go to is cream of rice 🤤 tastes delicious and will help you chase those gains. Discount code in my bio

Rest and recovery are just as important as your workouts and nutrition. You need to allow your body the time to recover. Everybody will be different on the amount of recovery and rest needed. A good place to start is to ensure your getting quality sleeps at night time.

Surround yourself with people who lift you up and who want to see you succeed. Many people might not agree or understand your journey, don’t let others dim your light. This journey is testing your every move, make sure you have people cheering you on. 📣 ❤️

you do NOT need 50+ supplements to reach your goals. Do they have a place absolutely! But do your research, ask your coach is it something you really need? Or will this just be more money spent…. Supplementation should only be on a needs bases. So ask yourself do you know why your taking something?

Your gut is connected to your brain?

There’s a nerve called the vagus nerve, also known as the wanderer nerve. It originates in the brain stem and travels all the way down to the gut, connecting the gut to your CNS.

When it reaches the gut,  it branches off wrapping the entire gut lining.

Because the vagus nerve penetrates the gut wall, it plays an essential role in the digestion of food, but its key function is to ensure that nerve signals can travel back and forth between the gut and the brain, carrying vital information to and from.

Signals between the gut and brain travel in both directions, making the brain and gut lifelong partners.

We must look at the big picture, finding not only the root cause but the variables that effect all areas of our mind body and soul.

Are you sabotaging your workouts?

Whether your goal is to shed fat, build muscle, feel more energized or maybe you just want to keep up with your kids.

staying focused during your workouts will help you progress faster, push harder and perform better.

Tune in and take the time to get into the right head space before your session.

Make sure your setting yourself up for success,

✅ Eat before you train
✅ Make sure to warm up before your workout
✅ log your workout progress
✅ If it doesn’t feel right stop and ask someone.
✅ Listen to some good tunes to get u in the mood.
✅ Stay hydrated!!
✅ Don’t be afraid to lift heavy!
✅ Make sure to be rested and recovered

But unfortunately there are many factors that make gaining or loosing weight difficult.

👉🏻Hormonal imbalances, without proper hormonal balancing our body’s ability to burning fat or building mass diminishes or stops completely. This is why checking blood often is critical.
👉🏻metabolic adaptation, our body’s are smart and can become more or less efficient in turning food you eat into energy. It will adapt to pretty much anything to stay alive or become more efficient. This includes speeding up or slowing down your metabolism.
👉🏻 disturbed gut microbiota, certain gut bacteria that produce LPS and cause inflammation may contribute to weight gain and insulin resistance, making loosing weight more difficult.
👉🏻stress: Cortisol in particular is often linked with weight fluctuation. Both high and low levels of cortisol can impact blood sugar levels as well as thyroid function, trigger weight fluctuation and cause symptoms of low metabolism.
👉🏻recovery: Sleep is essential for recovery! Wen sleep deprived you produce less leptin. leptin is the hormone that tells you you are full and satisfied. Being sleep deprived can cause over eating, as well as craving calorically dense foods.
Human growth hormone (HGH), is one of the primary compounds that allows muscles to recover and grow, this is released while your sleeping to aid in recovery ❤️‍🩹 😴
👉🏻genetics: everybody is different, and no two persons are going to experience weight loss or gain the same. So don’t compare your journey with others.

There are no short cuts when it comes to your health.

Whether it’s weight loss, muscle gain, strength increase, or gut health, taking short cuts will only delay the inevitable… and mask the real issues.

Under eating, It’s tempting. You figure if you gain weight from overeating, then undereating is the way to go, right? Unfortunately it’s not that simple.

Eating too few calories will not only leave you feeing dissatisfied, tired and grumpy, but you’ll find your cravings will be out of control.

When you aren’t getting enough calories, chances are you're not getting enough vitamins and minerals either. Nutritional deficiencies may cause a long list of health complications including, but not limited to, anemia, hormone imbalances, infertility, bone loss, poor dental health and decreased thyroid function.

Another common “short cut” Over Exercising

You figure if exercise is supposed to be good for you, well, shucks, a lot of exercise should be even better 🤷🏼‍♀️ right? Wrong 😑

Not only do you run a higher risk of injury but overtraining can be bad for your health.

Overtraining exerts a negative effect on the stress hormones cortisol and epinephrine. This hormonal imbalance can lead to emotional distress, trouble with concentration, increased irritability, depression, and difficulty with sleep.

over a long period of time can negatively affect various organ systems and lead to iron deficiency anemia, low or imbalanced hormones and low bone density.

Does that healthy…

Choose a path that will take you to your destination, and if don’t know what path to take ask for directions 🗺 ❤️.

Posed vs unposed

Social media is full of perfection, perfect hair, having a perfect beach body, or flawless skin, but how much of it is real….

we all struggle with body image from time to time, myself included! Remember what u see might not be what is…. How we pose, edit, do our makeup all changes the final “post ready image”.

In the first picture I’m rotating my torso making my waistline smaller and pushing my hips out and forward to appear larger and closer to the camera.

The second picture I’m using my arms to cover, lifting my shoulders and lengthening my torso to appear smaller and tighter

Last picture is me in a natural stance no sucking, pulling or twisting.

remember what you see online isn’t necessary reality.

A huge shout out to .o.p!

During our time together she has shown nothing but pure dedication and it shows!

She eats her meals, and does the work. Each week striving for that 1% everyday!

We are currently in a building phase, trying to add mass, and get stronger! I think it’s safe to say we are on course!

Our biggest focus for the past few months has been exercise ex*****on. Joyce had some imbalances we needed to fix, she suffered from lower back pain and stiffness, as well as chronic headaches after training 🤔.

Within a few months her back pain was gone, form and exercise ex*****on has improved immensely, and with the help of bracing and breathing techniques we have fixed her headaches during/after training.

😊 so proud of you, let’s keep crushing this! 💪🏻

How often do you set goals?

How often do you revisit your goals?
I think we all know that setting goals for ourselves is important, but we often don’t realize how important they really are 🤔

Setting goals helps trigger new behaviors, helps to guide, focus and sustain your momentum.

Goals also help align your focus and promote a sense of self-mastery. Goals help push you past what you might think possible.

So what goals do you have for your life?
How are you going to reach them?

Transformation shout out 💥

Tom has been nothing but a perfect client, killing it every week and it shows!

left: 164.5lbs
Right: 170lbs

Starting off, Tom had some gut issues, he felt bloated and water retentive, swollen to the point he couldn’t take off his wedding ring some days. After a few weeks of us figuring out what his body needed we hit the jackpot, his body loved the Nutrients we were feeding it. Water fell off, strength skyrocketed, and finally no bloat! 🙏

With weekly free meals, and little to no cardio.

I can 💯 confidently say this is due to his work ethic and drive! Tom never missed a check in, tracked all his workouts and ate every meal! He never made excuses and just dug in and did the work day after day 👏
