This isn’t about perfection, diets, or spending hours in the gym. It’s about reconnecting with yourself, moving your body because it feels good, learning how to support your health as we age, and surrounding yourself with an incredible group of supportive women.

I’m so excited to welcome Dr. Beverly Huang, owner of Grassroots Naturopathic Medicine Health Clinic, to our retreat! Dr. Huang will be joining us for a special session on women’s health, sharing practical, evidence-informed strategies to help you feel your best through perimenopause, menopause, and beyond.

This weekend is about investing in yourself—your health, your strength, your confidence, and your well-being. I can’t wait to share this experience with you!

Please feel free to DM me for more information.

I tried to keep it simple today…

Upper Body Focus 💪

As we age, building and maintaining muscle takes intention—but it is absolutely possible. The key is to train with purpose.

Aim to take each set to failure, or very close to it, while maintaining good form. That’s where the magic happens.

Keep it simple. Be consistent. Be strategic.

Give this workout a try! If you don’t have a cable machine, simply substitute dumbbells or resistance bands.

✔️ Back Rows
✔️ Lat Pulldowns (use a resistance band if needed)
✔️ Tricep Pulldowns (or do tricep kickbacks)
✔️ Overhead Tricep Extensions
✔️ Shoulder Mash-Up: Lateral Raises + Front Raises
✔️ Seated Shoulder Press
✔️ Narrow Chest Press or Tricep Pushes

You don’t need a fancy workout—you just need to challenge your muscles enough to give them a reason to grow.

This. Right here. 👇 This is what Choice Fitness is all about.

School’s out for summer… and apparently it’s not just the kids who are excited! 😂☀️

Last night’s Choice Fitness Summer Kick-Off workout Challenge was the perfect way to celebrate the start of summer. The costumes, the laughter, the friendly competition, and the memories made were absolutely priceless.
Yes, we come to work hard. Yes, we challenge ourselves. But somewhere between the burpees, the laughs, the sweat, and the countless workouts, something amazing happens… we become more than just workout partners — we become friends. ❤️

Fitness isn’t just about burning calories or lifting weights. It’s about community. It’s about showing up for one another, stepping outside our comfort zones, doing hard things together, and creating a tribe that feels like family.

Thank you to every amazing woman who showed up, embraced the fun, and reminded me why I love what I do so much. I am beyond grateful for this incredible community. ❤️

Here’s to summer, friendship, laughter, and many more memories together!

✔️ Per menopause
✔️ Menopause
✔️ Post menopause

These three photos tell the story of the last seven years of my life—years filled with change, struggle, growth, and learning to embrace a body I no longer fully understood.

The first photo was taken during perimenopaus. ( I was 50 yrs old) . I knew my body was changing… I wasn’t able to simply drop a few pounds here and there, I wasn’t able to build the muscle that I used to. Believe it or not in that photo I was not happy with my body. Before perimenopause I had the ability to control my body. I had the ability to build muscle. I had the ability to lose a little bit of weight - but it just wasn’t working anymore for me.

The middle photo was taken when I was deep in menopause — right in the thick of it, the “black hole” of hot flashes, mood swings, exhaustion, frustration, and wondering why all the things that used to work no longer did. I can honestly tell you that I had never felt so defeated or deflated during that time. There were days when simply showing up felt like a victory.

The last photo is me now. I’m finally starting to feel like I’m coming out the other side. I’m seeing small changes again (slowly), with my HRT I’m also sleeping better which is a win! Mentally I feel a bit more clarity also. I’m still a work in progress, not just physically but mentally, spiritually…but I feel like there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Do I think I’ll ever look exactly like I did in my 30s, my 40s, or even that first photo? Maybe. Maybe not.

But what I do know is this: I’m doing the right things. I’m doing the hard things.

Menopause has taught me that health isn’t just about looking a certain way. It’s about strength, resilience, energy, and continuing to take care of ourselves through every stage of life.

If you’re in the middle of this journey and feeling discouraged, please know you’re not alone. I see you. I understand your frustration because I’ve lived it too. Keep going. Keep showing up.

Walking is one of the best things you can do for your health. It’s simple, accessible, and something that should naturally be part of our daily lives. Every step counts, and regular walking provides incredible benefits for both your body and mind.

But we can’t forget about one very important muscle—your heart.

Just like we challenge our muscles in the gym to make them stronger, we also need to challenge our cardiovascular system. Your heart is a muscle, and it responds to training. When you increase your heart rate through activities like brisk walking, hiking, cycling, jogging, interval training, or any form of higher-intensity exercise, your heart becomes stronger and more efficient.

A stronger heart pumps more oxygen-rich blood throughout your body, improving endurance, energy levels, overall health, and quality of life.

So yes—walk often. Make movement part of your everyday routine. But also make it a priority to regularly do something that elevates your heart rate and challenges your cardiovascular system.

Train your heart the same way you train your back, your legs, or your biceps—because a strong heart is the foundation of a healthy life.
