Tank traps look pretty simple… until the clock starts. 😂

This was one of the stages where things finally started clicking for me after actually sighting-in.....

Build the position, get stable, make the shot, move to the next spot and do it all over again. It’s amazing how quickly something that looks straightforward turns into a problem to solve once you’re on the clock.

Definitely one of the more fun stages from the match.
Full stage video at the end. 🎯

Gemsbok horns are a lot harder to judge than they look.

One of the coolest things about getting up close to these animals was seeing just how much the horns change depending on the angle. From one side they look long, from another they look massive, and straight on you really get a sense of the shape and symmetry.

This was one of the animals I really wanted to hunt on my Africa trip, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience or setting. 🇿🇦

Swipe through and tell me — which angle makes him look biggest?

Nothing makes you find the holes in your shooting faster than a match.

Different positions, awkward barricades, limited time, and no do-overs. That’s what makes this stuff so much fun.

Had a blast shooting the Chaparral match this weekend and came away with a few stages I was really happy with.

Already looking forward to the next one.

Swipe through for some of the action — full stage video at the end.

Best shooting I’ve done since I started competing.

Shot the Chaprl match this weekend and finally put together the kind of performance I’ve been working toward. After I properly zeroed my rifle😂

Big milestone for me — I cleaned my first stage. It’s pretty satisfying when the practice starts showing up on match day.

Still lots to learn and plenty of room to get better, but definitely happy with this one.

A face only a mother could love. 😂

Warthogs definitely aren’t winning any beauty contests, but they’re one of those animals that just fit Africa perfectly.

This one was taken as part of a cull, where their numbers and the damage they cause can become a real problem for the area.

Ugly, tough, and about as African as it gets.

One of the coolest things to see in Africa was the variation in kudu genetics.

Tight curls, loose curls, wide horns, narrow horns — big, medium and small. No two sets seemed to grow quite the same. Seeing this many side by side really shows just how much character and variation there is in these animals.

Definitely one of my favourite animals from the Africa.

Africa just keeps delivering.

Another incredible experience from the trip — getting the opportunity to take this beautiful impala. Such an iconic African animal and another hunt I won’t soon forget.

Every animal and every hunt over there had its own story. 🇿🇦

Biggest little thing you can get. These little guys are super cool, believe it or not this is a mature trophy size Duiker, 4" is all it takes..... they are hard too see and even harder to hit. One of my favorite hunts in Africa!

Man, you can do some cool stuff in Africa!

I got the chance to do a nighttime hunt for those pesky jackals. Hunting under the African night sky with a thermal was such a cool experience and definitely one I won’t forget!

Once in a life time trip! So lucky to get down to south Africa for a hunt, it was a adventure every day! Never a dull moment. Beautiful animals everywhere you look, with so many different species. Many more pictures to come! Thank you Lucca African Safaris
