6️⃣ Next up: The 2025 Everyone Can Play Gala & Exhibition Match

Everyone Can Play (ECP) was launched in the spring of 2024 as a new barrier-free program to support programming for new Canadians and under-resourced families and youth. The exhibition match featured Vasek Pospisil, Milos Raonic, Rebecca Marino, and Tatjana Maria! The Gala delivered a one-of-a-kind evening for Calgary’s tennis and business community, bringing together supporters, donors, and tennis enthusiasts for an evening of world-class tennis and entertainment.

💰️ All proceeds from the Exhibition match and Gala went towards the ECP program

⭐️ 277 attendees took part in the Gala, while over 600 people attended the exhibition match

🎾 Gala raised a total of $200,000 in revenue and will support 60 families to play tennis in our community in 2025

It was an evening we will never forget‼️

5️⃣ Next up: Sabine Lisicki

Following a few gap years due to Covid, we were all ecstatic in 2022 to bring back the CNBC. We were even more excited to announce that 2022 would also be the first year the event would be a combined MEN & WOMENS event!

✨️ Former World No. 12 Sabine Lisicki of Germany, would be one of the first women to play at the Calgary National Bank Challenger.

Sabine has been a force to be reckoned with during her career as a
🎾 Holder of 4 WTA singles titles
🎾 Reached the Wimbledon Finals in 2013
🎾 Defeated several World #1 singles players in her career including: Serena Williams, Venus Williams, Maria Sharapova, Ana Ivanovic & Carline Wozniacki
🎾 Has the 3rd fastest female recorded serve on the WTA Tour at 131 mph (211kmph)

At the time, Sabine had recently underwent knee reconstruction surgery in 2020 and had just embarked on her journey back into professional tennis competition. We were thrilled her journey was bringing her to CALGARY!

In 2023 Sabine was victorious and took home the Champion Title 🏆️ what an honour it was to be a part of her journey. Thank you and we wish you all the best!

Without the love for tennis and dedicated tennis fans this event would not be possible. It was our mission to bring top-notch tennis, delicious food and hospitality, and unmatched ambience to you!

Every year the CNBC broke previous records and reached new highs! We finished our last year of this event with:

3️⃣ Next up: The CNBC Core Shopping Mall Activation

For 5 years the CNBC has held an 11-day tournament activation in the heart of downtown Calgary at the Core Shopping Centre Mall. The activation was held daily over the lunch hour to promote the event, sell/win tickets and served as a sponsor activation.

🎾 Each year we engaged an average of 20,000 Calgarians!

First and foremost, we want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you, regardless of age, who came to play tennis on our specially designed court. Your presence and passion for the sport were the driving force behind the excitement and energy that permeated the event. We couldn’t have asked for a more vibrant and dynamic audience!

2️⃣ Next up: Daniel Nestor & Clinics

The Calgary National Bank Challenger hosted 5 years of clinics, taught by the one and only Daniel Nestor!

🎾 Nestor was ranked as the world No. 1 in men's ATP doubles for 108 weeks
🎾 He won 91 career titles on the ATP Tour-level doubles titles, including twelve majors (eight in men's doubles and four in mixed doubles)
🎾 He won an Olympic gold medal at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, and four Tour Finals.
🎾 He won 12x Grand Slam Doubles Champions
🎾 He was the first man to complete the Big Titles sweep in doubles (winning every major and Masters event, the Tour Finals, and an Olympic gold medal over the course of a career),

✨️ Over the course of 5 years during the CNBC, 190 tennis player enthusiasts had the opportunity to step on court the greatest Canadian doubles tennis player in the history of tennis❗️

1️⃣ First up, Casper Ruud ‼️

Casper was a semi-finalist in our first Challenger event back in 2018 during the start of his professional career.

Now, fast forward, and Casper holds:
🎾 12 ATP Tour Titles
🎾 3x Grand Slam Singles Finalist (French Open 2022, 2023 & US OPEN 2022)
🎾 He reached the ATP Tour Finals in 2022 (Finalist)
🎾 And is currently a top 10 player, and has been ranked as high as #2 in the world!

What a true privilege it was to host such an amazing talent back then, and to have had even a small part to play the huge success of professional career 👏🏼

WOW what an amazing 5 years it has been! The 2024 Calgary National Bank Challenger concludes ATC’s 5-year agreement to host the event, following with the decision not to enter into another agreement.

ATC would like to thank everyone for any small or large part they played in assisting us to host such a remarkable tennis event! We could not have done it without you! An event of such calibre required top notch effort and top-notch people to deliver a stupendous FAN EXPERIENCE & HOSPITALITY.

To all the players that competed in our tournament over the 5-years, we thank you for your participation and incredible performances. We wish you all the best in your continued efforts in the professional tennis space!
