LEGACY OF GIVING BACK

Every game is themed around a cause that matters — honouring Zoe Pongo's legacy by supporting pediatric oncology initiatives, fueling kids through the Breakfast Club of Canada, equipping young players to get their start with KidSport, and stocking classrooms with school supplies.

Programs for student athletes ages U7 to U19. New players are welcome. Delivered in partnership with ELEV8 Lacrosse.

The season runs from June 16 to August 20 at Optimist Athletic Park.

We were excited to learn about the City of Calgary’s announcement to ease restrictions on sports training, dryland training, and skills practice development on the City-owned sports fields.

The Calgary Field Lacrosse Club is looking forward to offering world-class programming in a modified manner for the 2020 season. Understanding that the global and local climate surrounding COVID-19 remains a fluid situation, the season is scheduled to begin in early July 2020 and we are pleased to extend early bird pricing to May 30, 2020.

We are continually monitoring COVID-19 developments with the guidance of Alberta Health Services and the City of Calgary Officials. The health and safety of Calgary Field Lacrosse Club students-athletes, coaching staff, volunteers, and families is paramount, and any future decisions involving instructional changes will be communicated electronically to registered members should the need arise.

Based on the current AHS Guidelines for Outdoor Recreation our season will be modified. This is what you can expect from the Calgary Field Lacrosse 2020 modified season under the current guidelines:

1. Non-contact training in a fun, engaging, competitive environment. Physical distancing practices will be implemented according to the AHS guidelines.

2. Skill development for new and experienced players including fundamentals, agility/footwork, and positional work.

3. Development of team and individual lacrosse theory and strategy.

4. As of May 14, 2020 - Intersquad Games and Tournament travel will not be available per AHS guidelines. This is a fluid situation, should AHS Guidelines change communication will be shared with registered members.

All TRYit lacrosse clinics in partnership with ELEV8 Lacrosse and the Tuscany Residents Association are temporarily paused as a result of COVID-19.

We are very optimistic and looking forward to our season this summer beginning in July through to the end of August. Registration is on-going for the Summer 2020 season.

Introducing Coach Connor Pupp! Coach Connor was born in Calgary and played his minor lacrosse for the Calgary Axemen! Later in his career he became an alum of both the ELEV8 Elite Program and Calgary Field Lacrosse. He is currently on the Rochester Institute of Technology Men’s Lacrosse Team and plays midfield for the Tigers in the NCAA Divison III. Coach Connor will be coaching the participants of Calgary Field Lacrosse this summer! Let’s roll Coach Connor!

Say Hello to Ross Geiger! Coach Ross is from Calgary, AB a and grew up playing in the Calgary Sabrecats Box Lacrosse Association. He was a member of Calgary Field Lacrosse and competed with the ELEV8 Elite Program for 6 years before heading off to compete in NCAA Division II Lacrosse at Tusculum University. As a Freshman, Coach Ross cracked the lineup right away and started all 14 games for the Tusculum Pioneers grabbing 162 saves! You can catch Coach Ross this summer coaching the participants of Calgary Field Lacrosse!

Meet Coach Myles Moffat! Coach Myles is from Airdrie, AB and is an alum of both ELEV8 Elite Program and Calgary Field Lacrosse. He is currently a member of the Lenoir-Rhyne University Men’s Lacrosse team and competes in the NCAA Division II. In his rookie season with the Bears, he netted 29 goals and dished out 26 assists! Coach Myles will be coaching the participants of Calgary Field Lacrosse this summer!

Meet Coach Matt Fluet! Coach Matt is a born and raised Calgarian and played for the Hornets Box Lacrosse Association growing up. Coach Matt also spent 7 years with the ELEV8 Elite Program and Calgary Field Lacrosse! As a current Student-Athlete, Matt competes on the Seton Hill University Men’s Lacrosse Team in the NCAA. Coach Matt will be coaching the participants of Calgary Field Lacrosse this summer! .
