🪽Whooping cranes remain one of Canada’s most highly endangered species with fewer than 550 individuals and about 100 breeding pairs left in one wild, self-sustaining population – the Aransas-Wood Buffalo Population.
🍁Mark Bidwell and John Conkin of Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) will present work to support whooping cranes, including updates to long-term monitoring on the breeding grounds and during migration, and efforts to identify and protect key habitats.
