Want to run faster without just adding more miles? 🏃‍♂️

If you’re only focusing on mileage, you could be leaving serious speed gains on the table. 💪 Targeted strength training can boost power, improve efficiency, and reduce injury risk — key factors for faster running.

Here’s what you’ll gain from these strength exercises:
💥 Build explosive power for quicker, stronger strides
💥 Improve running efficiency and ground contact time
💥 Reduce injury risk with stronger muscles and joints
💥 Target key muscle groups like glutes, hamstrings, and core
💥 Enhance single-leg stability for better performance

From movements like deadlifts and split squats to plyometric drills, these exercises are designed to translate directly into speed and endurance on the road. 🏋️

SPOTLIGHT: Canada’s Top Fitness Trainers, Class of 2026

KEN KOTYK (IG: | FB: Ken Kotyk)

Drawing on his background as an elite Olympic bobsledder, Ken Kotyk translates the high-stakes discipline of international competition into a dedicated career in strength and conditioning.

After earning World Cup podiums and a fourth-place finish at the 2006 Winter Olympics, Ken transitioned from the national team to the weight room, bringing with him a deep mastery of explosive power and resilient movement.

Today, Ken applies the mechanics of sprinting and jumping to help clients of all ages build functional strength and lasting confidence.

💬: “Years of training taught me that everyone is an athlete; the only thing that changes is the level. My philosophy is rooted in teaching mechanics that are functional and transferable to both sport and everyday life.”

Pay the price.

Been reading self improvement 101. One the principles of self improvement that stood out to me was, pay the price.

Focuse your improvement/development daily to help reach your potential. Do something different, be consistent/discipline or do something people don't fully understand but you. If you do people then may call you crazy, thank them for the compliment. A friend told me once that all great people are a little crazy. So be in pursuit of crazy, be in pursuit of your potential.

The quote, John Maxwell posts by Theodore  Roosevelt "There has not been yet been a person in our history who led a life of ease whose name is worth remembering.", has a lot of power in it. This why you hear other quotes like, the struggle make you great or there is privilege in the pain. People want hear the story of the survivor, the person that overcomes, the person who achieved through great adversity. That struggle and pushing through is worth remembering, it can create great impact for people hearing that story and it gives hope. I have heard, that life, the universe or whatever you choose to believe in, doesn't throw anything at you that you can't handle. So if thats true, then if you are having challenges, then you must be pretty tough.

See the challenge, meet the challenge and take it on. Be considered crazy for it and go and reach your potential.
