With fall leagues ending, something to consider over the spring and summer months!

Pro Tip Friday: The Power of the Reset

We spend so much time talking about the grind and practice, but one of the most important tools you have is the reset button. Whether you’re a league bowler or grinding out tournaments, there is a point where stepping away is actually the best thing you can do for your game. With winter leagues ending and Nationals in full swing, it’s a good time to check in with yourself.

When is it time?
👎 It feels like a chore: Bowling should be a luxury. If you’re dreading going to the center, your mental game is already at a disadvantage.

👎The results aren't there: If you’re putting in the work but not seeing the scores in tournaments, you might just be "spinning your wheels."

👎 Physical issues: If your hand is hurting or your fit feels off, stop pushing through it. Use a break to get your equipment checked and let your body heal.

👎 The "Frustration" Factor: If you’re leaving the lanes angry at your performance (not just the score), you aren't in a headspace to improve.

Look at the Pros
Even on the PBA Tour, we see guys taking breaks mid-season. They’re missing their families, the results aren't coming, and it gets expensive and mentally draining. They go home, hit reset, and come back fresh. If they need it, we do too.

How long should you wait?
The summer is the perfect time for a break. Some bowlers take the whole summer off, while others just need 1–2 weeks to clear their heads before getting back into a practice routine.

Bottom line: If you aren't enjoying it, you aren't going to bowl well. Take a week or two off. The pins aren't going anywhere, and you’ll come back with a lot more focus.
