Hockey Calgary is introducing a new three-phase U9 season structure for 2026-27, designed to maximize player development while providing players with opportunities to experience different game formats as the season progresses. The new format continues to prioritize the proven benefits of small-area hockey while supporting a smooth transition to U11.

Pathway skates are the bridge between summer and formal player placement. They support Hockey Canada’s Long Term Player Development model, providing age-appropriate opportunities for players to comfortably return to hockey.
