Sadio Mane, a Senegalese soccer star that plays for British team Liverpool, and earns approximately 10.2 million dollars annually, has given the world a lesson in modesty after some fans spotted him carrying a cracked iPhone. His response is legendary:

"Why would I want ten Ferraris, 20 diamond watches and two jet planes? What would that do for the world? I starved, I worked in the fields, I played barefoot, and I didn't go to school. Now I can help people. I prefer to build schools and give poor people food or clothing. I have built schools [and] a stadium; we provide clothes, shoes, and food for people in extreme poverty. In addition, I give 70 euros per month to all people from a very poor Senegalese region in order to contribute to their family economy. I do not need to display luxury cars, luxury homes, trips, and even planes. I prefer that my people receive a little of what life has given me," Mane said.

In a sports season of never ending challenges, we met the final one. The Grand River Flying Squirrels are the 2020 Fergie Jenkins Showcase League 18U Champions after a tough fought double header sweep of the Ontario Rockies. The Rockies were the #1 team in their bubble, and the Flying Squirrels #1 in ours. We matched up for a best -of-three series to determine the 2020 Champions. I am so proud of the Flying Squirrels, the coaching staff and the families. This is a very good team, not an organization but a team. A team of winners, competitors and players.

Flying Squirrels surpass 20 wins, with another 1-run walk off win, and a thrashing of the Nationals for the last time in a weekend 4-game sweep.

Double Header sweep of two 1-run ball games. Game 1 highlights was a 5 RBI and 2 HR game by Noah Roberts in a 7-6 win over the Ontario Titans, and a marathon 14-13 win over the Lake Simcoe Nationals with Ben Spunde picking up the win and Noah Roberts collecting the save.

The wind was swirling, and the bats were clanging in a game 1 16-1 trounce of the Ontario Titans with 3-run HR by Noah Roberts and Jackson Soucie. Jordan Carroll pitched a complete game gem. Now...for the 2nd game, we had a nail biter and very competitive game. Robbie Price pitched wonderful with the Squirrels having a 3-1 lead before relinquishing it. Tough loss, but a great game.

Double Header sweep in two close games versus the Lake Simcoe Nationals. Angelo Duscio dominated the dish with 4 hits, scoring the tying run in the second game of Josiah Stairs RBI double, and Robbie Price got the GWRBI single in walk-off fashion.
