We were sponsored over the years by the Canmore Hotel where we traditionally "met" for "post game analogy" We were known as the tea with the dog of course referring to Morgan Quinn's great companion Curly Buchanan known lovingly as Buch. One story has to be bilined here. While in the middle of a game at the Railway Ave diamond a car went racing by as Buch faithfully dashed out to retrieve the ball. The car ran over him and stopped abruptly leaving Buch trapped. We all jumped up and raced to his rescue. When we got to the car we jointly lifted the car straight up in the air. Buch dashed out having just escaped a sure death sentence. The driver was frozen to the steering wheel not really grasping what had just taken place. I have a feeling he obeyed speed limits as a result. The game resumed play and Buch took up his ost faithfully waiting for his chance to retrieve the next foul ball.
