Drytooling is the weirdest form of climbing, best left for the Fall season when it's to cold to climb rock and we can't scratch our tools on ice. It feels more like gymnastics mentally when you have no idea or trust in what your pulling on, and physically when you get into some of the situations these climbers did.
Hanging out in Alcatraz with some crushers who ended up sending their projects! Much stoke and good Juju to be had in the air.

The many faces of drytooling. Questioning what it is your about to pull on, getting sluff in the face, realizing your pulling on mere millimeters and hurriedly trying to find something better, and sheer joy when you finally found that jug everyone's looking for.

Hey everyone!
I am looking to expand my photography portfolio in the coming months.
What does this mean for you? The opportunity to get high-quality photos, at a fraction of the cost!
I am currently offering a 1-hour session, with the guarantee of 15+ images for $100. This covers everything from my transportation, camera gear, editing software, and personal time.
The session can be anything from a new professional shot for your Linkedin or company, to couples and family photos. This can be your chance to get your Christmas cards ready early, or update your photos by the fireplace!
As an added incentive, if I get a minimum of 5 bookings before midnight, October 18th, I’ll randomly select one winner to get their session covered for free!

Went to check out the unicorn ( 77, M7-) with Unfortunately we didn't anticipate to bring rock gear for the first pitch hoping that the initial ice pillar would be good. We then turned to our consolation prize, the first pitch of Kitty Hawk (200m, WI5). Undoubtedly the best ice climb in the Nordegg area. One that Andrew and I have both done together twice, it was fun to lead up a full rope length WI4 pitch, ending before the crux. A beautiful climb that ascends a vertical canyon in some pretty imposing cliffs.

This is José, José is a proud Colombian living in the town of Popayán. A town well known for its colonial architecture and its contributions to Colombian cultural and political life. Popayán has been home to seventeen Colombian presidents, as well as noted poets, painters, and composers. The University of Cauca (est. 1827), is one of Colombia's oldest and most distinguished institutions of higher education, and is part of the reason why Popayán is known as the "University City”, as well as the “White City” due to the color of most of the colonial buildings in the city center, where several churches are located. I encountered José twice, during my 34 hour visit to the city. Both by pure coincidence. With the little Spanish I knew and the help of a translation dictionary, we found ourselves talking whilst walking through the city centre. With him wanting to know what brought me to the city as well as where my red beard came from, myself wanting to practice conversational Spanish and (hopefully) find a local food joint. Afterwards I asked him if I could take a photo and he happily obliged, leaving me at the doorsteps of his favorite restaurant. The next day as I was finding my way back to the bus station, (deciding to forgo the Google maps and seeing how well I could remember the way) I encountered Jose again, much to his delight. He had his phone on him and asked if he could take a photo of me as well, attempting to continue our conversation as he walked me to the bus station to make sure I was headed in the right direction. @ Popayán, Cauca, Colombia

Another shot of on Alberta Jam. Really enjoyed being able to shoot this climb at the angle I was at. An entirely vertical crack climb contrasted with some bright climbers colors.

Climbing on 'Alberta Jam' 5.11b leading on gear. This is one of the most beautiful limestone cracks found in Alberta, and is widely regarded as a classic. Solid day out with and starting with free soloing multiple 5.2 climbs and rappelling off of trees before finding our way onto this flake.
