A fantastic day in Kananaskis recently with an inspiring group of women exploring Wasootch Ridge!

From the steep forest climb to the rolling ridgeline, every step was rewarded with incredible panoramic views of the surrounding peaks and valleys. Great conversations, lots of laughs, and the shared experience of reaching new heights made for an unforgettable day in the mountains.

With guide Jean leading the way, six guests explored one of the Canadian Rockies' most spectacular landscapes, hiking through alpine meadows, past crystal-clear lakes, and beneath the towering peaks that make Assiniboine such a special place.

The weather couldn't have been much better, with great hiking conditions throughout the trip and plenty of time to soak in the views, share stories around camp, and enjoy everything this iconic destination has to offer.

Always be prepared—even on a simple day hike.

A small, lightweight tarp might seem like an unnecessary extra when you're heading out for just a few hours, but it can completely change your day when the weather turns. During a recent hike, a quick tarp shelter gave us a dry spot to stop, have a warm drink, and enjoy the moment instead of rushing through the rain.

It's amazing how one small piece of gear can add comfort, safety, and enjoyment when conditions aren't ideal. Lightweight to carry, quick to set up, and worth every ounce when you need it.

The best outdoor experiences often come down to being prepared for the unexpected.

You may have stood at Moraine Lake and looked up at Mount Temple.

Few people ever stand on top of it.

At 3,544 m (11,624 ft), Mount Temple is one of the most iconic summits in the Canadian Rockies and a classic objective for strong hikers looking to take the next step into alpine terrain.

The day starts in the forests of Larch Valley before climbing above treeline toward Sentinel Pass. From there, the route winds through rugged alpine terrain to a summit with sweeping views over Moraine Lake, Paradise Valley, and the Valley of the Ten Peaks.

For many people, Mount Temple becomes their first 11,000-foot summit—and one of their most memorable mountain days.
