Disc Golf Courses of Alberta
Want to know where disc golf courses are and what they're like? Want to see pics and info about each course? Well this page is dedicated to just that!
Hey there, my name is Martin, and I picked up disc golf a couple years ago. By no means a pro, I have still fallen in love with the game. I have been disappointed with the lack of information for courses around Alberta, such as locations, pictures, hole stats, and general descriptions of how each course is to play. With a desire to travel around and try every course that is out there, I've taken i
Haha! Yes, it's THAT cold people!

We have a bunch of courses to upload soon! Four more to be exact, just busy with summer fun, not sitting at computer lately :) Stay tuned!

The location doesn't get any better than this, part way up the mountain, beautiful views of the area, it's like a nature hike while throwing discs!
Well marked with colorful signs and matching baskets, in fact these are the best baskets I've seen so far, with bright colors painted on each one, and everyone a different color.
This is a fairly easy course, nothing too challenging other than trees to maneuver around. There are a few rules to follow on specific holes, such as a disc path to throw or it's considered out of bounds.
To find the course, from Canmore, get on the Three Sisters Parkway HWY 742 heading back SE along the Bow River until you get to Three Sisters Blvd and turn right (West), head up the mountain a short distance and you will see a playground on the right atop a hill at the Riva Heights intersection. The map calls the area "My Rocky Mountain Window" if you need to google map it. Park in the playground lot and the first tee is just to the left of it. See the pics for reference!

If you want a disc course that plays like a golf course, then this is your ticket! It's beautiful and a lot of fun to walk while throwing. Also if you want a course tour guide (you may need it!) the local players are more than willing to come join you for a round and show you the lay of the baskets, just put a message on their page. Friendliest throwers you'll find on any course!
This course is extremely well marked and mapped with detailed signs and route directions. You'll see that it snakes its way through a residential area, connecting many smaller parks to make up the course. When having to cross roads, there are little "blue disc men" painted on the ground to show you the way. Some of the holes have house/yard hazards, and are marked with an * in the pics.
To find the start, look for Brentwood Elementary School at 97 Brentwood Dr. W. You will see community mail boxes, and the first tee is just to the right of those entering the park beside the school. See the pics for visual reference!

This is quite an interesting little course! Located right on the main street going through the town, it wraps around the health center, with one hole even crossing the helicopter pad, while another has you going through a tight gap between the building and trees, and still yet two others that have their baskets buried deep in tree cover, that you can't even get a shot at them until right up close!
The tee areas are clearly marked with bright green signs, and include distance, hazards, and basket location.
Easy to navigate, as it starts to the left of the parking lot, and as stated wraps around the building in a clockwise pattern.
Also easy to find, once you see the A&W, the health center is just past it on the Hwy 583, or GPS puts the address as 1504 2 St. N. Park in the health center lot, and the first tee is on the left side of the lot near the road. See the pics for visual reference!

This beautiful valley course is completely hidden unless you know where to go! Located in NE Calgary, it's actually my favorite course in the city. It has challenges for all levels of play, and variety in hole types as well. There are long, banking holes, shorter hillside holes, and trees to maneuver through! Each tee area is clearly marked with a round, white disc on the ground that is numbered, and the baskets are also numbered with bright orange markers.
Finding this course can be tricky, the closest street address intersection is 56 Ave NE and Taylor Crescent. Not far from McKnight Blvd. On the map picture it is marked with a red star. Easiest way to get there is take Center St. N to 56 Ave NE, turn East, then turn right onto Taylor Cres. You will see a community center with a large grass valley behind it, and a baseball field, the disc course starts just beyond the baseball diamond. Look at the pictures for visual direction and what to look for!

Nice, wide open course for beginners, leisure players, or those wanting to practice their distance accuracy. Nothing too challenging or tricky. Very well kept fairways, with bright, white baskets and tee area markers, although there is no info on the signs. It's figure your own way around! Hole #1 is right beside the reserved parking lot of the school though and it's fairly easy to navigate, as the next tee area is close to the basket of the previous hole. Located in a nice park with walking paths, scattered trees and shrubs, and near the school which has a large playground.
The course is right in the middle of Olds, Alberta, on 53 Street next to Horizon school. In GPS maps it's called Walter's Green, but once there, the sign calls it Hartman Green.
All hole distances are rough estimates but pretty close, as I walked the course counting metered steps!
