Close finishes, near-death experience at Canyon Mountain Crusher | Yukon News Whitehorse’s David Pharand overcame adversity to win his division of the inaugural Canyon Mountain Crusher. He prevailed despite tough trails, fierce competition, oh, and falling off a cliff.

Wow, what a weekend in Yukon MTB circles! Charles Dickson-Blanchard (shown here charging Easy Money) and the rest of the Dawson trail building crew joined forces with Whitehorse riders for the inaugural Canyon Mountain Crusher on Saturday, which saw riders elated (and exhausted) at riding some of Whitehorse's best technical descents all in one day. Michael Abbott took the men's Crusher title and Martina Knopp took the women's. Amazingly, after an hour of timed racing, the Top 3 men's results were within 20 seconds of one another (nice work, Massey Baker and Ben Gilbert)! Canyon Mountain Crusher enduro is now underway, with the Grey Mountain portion stages complete and shuttles leaving imminently for Starbucks, Goat and Quickie....lots of fun being had! Don't forget about the final event in the Dirt Rush series - King of the (Rocky) Canyon XC/Yukon MTB championships, starting tomorrow at noon at Mount Mac dirt jump park.

Sunday's King of the (Rocky) Canyon will be the final event in the series - Sunday at 12 pm at Mount Mac dirt jump park (register onsite). Who will race all three events on the SAME bike and take the first ever Dirt Rush title? Only 3 more sleeps until we find out...

Enduro racers crank it up in Carcross | Yukon News Dozens of riders took part in the three-day CarCranked Festival from Saturday to Monday in Carcross.

A successful first weekend in the Dirt Rush series is now behind us, with full CarCranked enduro results to come. In the meantime we're dialing in the details for the next event in the series - the Canyon Mountain Crusher this Saturday. This is a BIG course with LOTS of vertical and endless fun, folks! Registration is half full and limited to 30 riders. Register at Icycle Sport as soon as possible! Race starts at 8:15 am and goes all day....

CarCranked Enduro course details are now available!

4 timed sections, 2 laps, lots of fun. Remember, you're only timed on the downhills (plus a bit of cross-country). Cut-off time to top of Nares View is a leisurely 1 hr 45 minutes. There's even a shorter, one-lap youth course that incorporates timed segment #2.

Followed by a race BBQ at 6 pm at Bennett Bistro. Prizes for top male and female and draw prizes!! C'mon out, racers and non-racers alike!
