Two youth-run businesses in the heart of Carleton Place are teaming up to better serve local skaters. Colvin Squad Skate Sharpening is proud to announce a new partnership with Wax Daddy, bringing together two passionate kid-operated ventures that are quickly becoming staples in the community’s hockey and skating scene.

Founded and operated by young entrepreneurs in Carleton Place, both Colvin Squad and Wax Daddy have earned admiration for their dedication, work ethic, and commitment to providing high-quality products and services. This partnership brings Wax Daddy’s locally loved stick wax directly to Colvin Squad customers, making it easier for skaters to get everything they need in one convenient stop.

The collaboration reflects the strong entrepreneurial spirit growing among young people in Carleton Place. Both businesses have been widely supported by local families, coaches, and teams who appreciate seeing kids build real-world skills while contributing to community life.

Through the partnership, Colvin Squad Skate Sharpening will now carry Wax Daddy stick wax products alongside their existing lineup of skate services, tape, laces, and accessories.

Dear valued customers,

We want to thank you for being such a valued part of our journey. To continue offering the high-quality service/products you’ve come to expect — and to keep up with soaring costs — we’ll be making a small $1 adjustment to our pricing on all products starting July 1, 2025. All pre purchased skate cards will still be honored at the original purchase price. In addition, you may still pre-purchase skate cards ahead of our deadline to lock in your pricing prior to the increase.

Fun fact: All kids receive free hockey cards from their favorite NHL team with every sharpening.

Remember to hang your skates upside down when drying them out. This will prevent your skate rivots from rust and corrosion.
