⚽ MMU SKILL OF THE WEEK: FAKE & TAKE! 🔥

Can you trick a defender and leave them behind? 😎

This week, our U8 players are learning Fake & Take — a simple but powerful soccer move that helps players beat defenders and create space!

👟 How does it work?

1. FAKE 🎭 – Pretend you’re going one way using your body and foot movement.
2. TAKE ⚡ – Quickly push the ball in the other direction and accelerate into space!

🎯 What are we learning?

✅ Ball control and coordination
✅ Changing direction quickly
✅ Confidence in 1v1 situations
✅ Creativity and decision-making
✅ Explosive acceleration with the ball

💡 Why do we teach this at U8?

At this age, soccer is about more than passing and scoring. We want kids to become brave, creative players who aren’t afraid to take on a defender!

🏠 Try it at home! All you need is a ball, a little space, and something to act as a defender. Practice the fake, take the ball in the opposite direction, and explode away!
