Carlyle Golf Course will be closed today due to rain.

Pictured is our signature tree located on the second hole of the Carlyle Golf Course. Retired golf superintendent Steve Polsom provided some background on its history. Evidently, many decades ago when the circus came to town, their star elephant was tethered to this tree. Long time resident golfer Johnny Bax, who has since passed away, christened it the “Elephant Tree”. And now you know.
To many of the senior golfers who routinely strike it on their second hole drive, they have another name for it!

Results from Sept 1 ladies night. We have 20 ladies come out for a night of fun!
Next week, tee off time will be 5:15.
Things to remember: long drive is your drive from the tee box and must be in the fairway.
CP is from your drive on the tee box.
Long putt is your first attempt only.
Mulligans count as a stroke.
Double par only on score cards.
Shortest putt in on the first attempt only.
Let faster teams play through.

We have decided to close the course and cancel Mens night tonight. Just too darn windy and rainy out there today.

Good evening ladies here are the results from Tuesday evening. The mystery hole was a 7 on 2 there were 4 ladies who achieved that but I was one of them and hadn’t told anyone so I excluded myself 🤪 lol.
Just a couple of reminders max score is double par per hole, long drive must be on the fairway, CP on 3 and 5 is from your drive.
Our hours of light are at a premium so please play accordingly shot gun at 5:30.
Finally I won’t be there next week but Carrie has graciously agreed to look after all you beautiful ladies.

On Saturday, September 12, we will host our final tournament of the year which will be a Members & Friends, par 3, 9 hole afternoon of golf with a meal to follow. We will also be making the draw for the masterly crafted Co****le toss game that day.
