Pretty exciting stuff! Adrian and Wade got to spend 3 days hunting together this deer season. They were hoping to get the get the chance to see this deer up close and personal as they knew that he was in the area. He came into the bait at 2pm and stood facing them at 25 yards for more than 10 minutes before he finally turned to give her a shot with the crossbow. He is a one of a kind deer, the buck of a lifetime and she is lucky enough to harvest him in only her second season of hunting. She is pretty blessed to have her Dad as her guide and she’s kinda spoiled too to have the opportunities that’s she’s had already at only 13 years old.

So this happened today! Wade and Adrian had the chance to hunt their bait close to town and sit for the last couple of days of deer season. They had a big 9 and this big 10 point on camera and were hoping to get the opportunity to see one of them come in. The big nine point came in yesterday but skirted the bait, Adrian thought that if he came in that she would shoot....but after sitting for eight hours yesterday and three hours this morning, the big 10 point showed up! She was shaking so badly! Wade was filming and struggled himself not to shake and see the deer through the tiny opening. The buck of a lifetime, her first deer hunt ever and she nailed it with a perfect shot with the cross bow! We are so proud of this girl! I’m not sure who was more excited, Adrian or her Dad having this opportunity with his girl! A blessing for sure!
We hope that all of our American friends and clients had a Wonderful Thanksgiving yesterday. Our hunters were able to go home early to be with their family but we decided to have the feast anyway with some of our family, we have so much to be thankful for! The smell of homemade turkey soup simmering on the stove this morning is a comforting way to end the season. Wade is sitting with Adrian at her stand closer to town hoping for a great buck to come in for her to shoot! What a great day😊

I’m missing my wonderful helper tonight as I have to eat the white chocolate brownie all by myself after the hunters retire to the lodge for the evening....I need the sugar rush energy to tackle the kitchen clean up and breakfast prep! Another great day at Lost Creek, I love what we do❤️

Gearing up for Whitetail Season 2019! Wade’s bait sites are rocking and rolling, trails and shooting lanes cleared and ready for the hunters arriving soon. The kids are excited for the new 6 wheel ATV joining our team this year...hopefully a smooth and comfortable ride for our clients and guides. Knock on wood, but the Bush is nicely dry so far so hopefully we don’t have to get the T-shirts “I survived the Muddy Mile” for this season, ha ha! Here’s to an awesome hunt....we’re super excited about the trophy opportunities this year😀

Well....she didn’t really want to get up at 4:30 this am but she sure is happy that she did! Adrian made a great 250 yard shot on this bull. She is so excited for her first big game hunt and her Dad was even more thrilled...a moment he’s been looking forward to for 12 years if she decided that she wanted to try hunting. Pretty exciting stuff! She would have liked to get one with her bow but that night he didn’t come in close enough, that’s hunting! Way to go Adrian, we are so proud of you!!!😘

First evening out, my elk hunters were successful! It was too far for Adrian to shoot, so Wade took the shot. We will eat well for another year, so we’re thankful for that! Hopefully Adrian can get an opportunity for one as well as a new hunter this year. We’re gearing up for a great fall, hunters will be here before we know it!

We have been having a great time at deer camp this season, having some old friends coming back and meeting lots of new people this year too! I need to get pictures organized on one device so that I can post an update! We have had some happy hunters in camp seeing lots of deer activity and harvesting some great trophy’s. If our guests are happy, then we are happy as we make every effort to ensure a successful hunt and enjoyable atmosphere while on vacation. Thank you to each and every one of you that choose Team Lost Creek as your guide service for a package deal from our family to you😊
So...this happened today! I had a draw either s*x mule deer tag that I was sure I’d be hanging on the Christmas tree as I have no time to get out in this busy season! Up at 3:45am making breakfast and lunches then busy all day cleaning and prepping for the evening meal with homemade breads and delectable desserts every day! Sharon and I finally hang our aprons up at about 11pm every night so I’m getting pretty tired but love this job so it’s so worth it!!! Wade came in the lodge after dropping his guys off at their stands and said “Hey, we should go for a drive and look for a mule deer...you know the season ends tomorrow!” I said well I guess I can go for a quick drive and be back in time for him to check on his hunter and myself back in the kitchen! So got the colours on and off we went. Drove around for awhile and found a couple groups of deer but they were sure jumpy and wouldn’t stand still for a shot....I exercised a little patience! Found a bluff where we saw a group head in and didn’t come out so here was our chance. Wade didn’t even hold my hand! I dropped him off and I drove up and got into position. He starting walking into the trees and they got up and headed my way as he predicted! The first group came through and I put my cross hairs on the biggest doe and let drive! I didn’t even know if I got her for sure as I lost her in the scope and didn’t see her drop! Wade only gave me one shell...maybe he was worried I’d get trigger happy, ha ha so I had to go rummaging in the truck to find a couple more in case I hit her and she got up! Wouldn’t you know it, quite a few more mulies then strolled by including 4 bucks🤦♀️. I wasn’t sure if I had one down so I watched them saunter off! Wade caught up to me and we headed to where I shot! She dropped in her tracks, perfect neck shot, 125 yards with his trusty 300 win mag! I was pretty excited! I don’t get out to hunt much anymore and I realize how much I miss it and plan to do more of it! My focus was getting some meat for making sausage and eat well this winter so my hunt was a success! And....I was back to work in the kitchen within 2 hours! Thanks to my super awesome guide that I and our clients are lucky to have...in my opinion, ha ha...good thing he’s not on Facebook to read this😉.
I hope everyone is having a wonderful and successful hunting season!
