Pretty chic… and pretty correct. ✨🐴
Fresh glue-on composite shoes, a little fine-tuning to the trim and suddenly we’re seeing that heel-toe landing we were aiming for. 👠➡️🐎
There’s something so satisfying about watching a horse find a more desirable landing pattern. It’s not just about how the foot looks — it’s about the appropriate movement for soundness and longevity.
✨ Fresh kicks
✨ Better landing pattern
✨ Happy feet, better movement
And yes… that heel-toe landing is looking pretty chic. 💅
Central Alberta Equine Rehab & Wellness Centre
Helping horses heal, strengthen, and thrive — rehabilitation & conditioning for all equine athletes.
We offer horse boarding (indoor, paddock, pasture), training, lessons, sales and conditioning and rehab with our solarium and water treadmill
Does your horse’s conditioning match the demands of their sport?
A basketball player doesn’t train like a 100m sprinter — so why should every horse be conditioned the same way?
Every discipline places different demands on the equine athlete. The strength, cardiovascular capacity, power, speed, coordination, mobility, recovery, and durability required can vary dramatically from one sport to another.
That’s where sport-specific conditioning comes in.
We believe conditioning should be more than simply putting more miles, more repetitions, or more intensity into a program. It should be intentional, evidence-informed, and tailored to the individual horse and the demands of their discipline.
As athletes and trainers ourselves, we understand the demands of sport firsthand. We know what it takes to develop an athlete, prepare for competition, manage workload, and build fitness without losing sight of long-term soundness and longevity.
Our programs combine science, education, experience, and individualized planning to help each horse become the best athlete they can be.
Because the goal isn't simply to get your horse fitter.
It’s to help them perform better, recover faster, stay sound, and perform at their best for longer.
Your horse is an athlete.
Condition them like one.

WHY ACTIVE RECOVERY?
Just like human athletes, performance horses benefit from thoughtful recovery after periods of intense work.
Active recovery keeps the horse moving in a controlled, low-impact environment rather than simply going from hard work to complete rest. Gentle movement can help support mobility, circulation and relaxation while allowing the body to gradually transition out of a demanding training or competition schedule.
For the performance horse, recovery isn't just about stopping.
It's about giving the body an opportunity to reset.

The Calgary Stampede Makes International Reining History When five of the world’s best riders and a hometown sweetheart ride into the rodeo… everybody wins.
How much thought goes into your own fitness?
We spend so much time planning our horses' conditioning, strengthening and recovery - but how often do we give ourselves the same level of attention?
Rider fitness is just as important 💪 A stronger, balanced and more mobile rider can communicate more effectively and ultimately help their horse perform at its best.
Taking care of ourselves also helps reduce the risk of injury and promotes a faster recovery in a sport and industry that is already physically demanding. We ask a lot of our bodies every day - it only makes sense to train them with intention, just like we do our horses.
Your horse deserves the best version of you.
"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters".
