🏗️ If you are visiting the Castlegar & District Community Complex today through September 10, you may see a crane working outside the facility. The crane will be used to temporarily lift a couple of our rooftop units (RTUs) so crews can complete roof work around them.

There will be a roped-off work area outside the facility. Please do not walk through or around the roped-off area while work is underway. Visitors should use the Arena entrance to access the facility while work is being completed.

UPDATE: The arena is open!

Staff were able to acquire the replacement part needed to get the ice plant back up and running, and the arena has now reopened.

Thank you to everyone for your patience and understanding while staff worked to resolve the issue.

🚨The ice plant at the Castlegar & District Community Complex is experiencing a mechanical issue, and the arena is temporarily closed while staff work to get it back up and running.

Staff are working to source the necessary replacement parts and will keep working toward reopening the arena as soon as possible.

We appreciate your patience and understanding while we work through this unexpected issue. Staff will be contacting groups with existing bookings directly to let them know about the closure.

We will provide an update as soon as more information is available.

We will be closed on Monday, September 7 for Labour Day. We will reopen on Tuesday, September 8 with our regular hours of operation.

The Castlegar & District Community Complex's fitness centre will be closed this week for annual maintenance. The fitness centre will reopen on Tuesday, September 8.

This planned closure is an important part of maintaining the fitness centre so it can continue to serve our community for years to come.
