We know it can be a long and sometimes gritty drive up to the Paulson Ski Trails! 🥶
If you're in the market for a new set of tires, this can make all the difference!

Kal Tire has been supporting cross-country ski clubs and youth programs across BC for years - And one of the ways they do this is with their Kal Tire coupon!

Print out this coupon, or save it on your phone and bring it in to the local Castlegar Kal Tire for $100 off any Nokian tire set. The coupon is valid until Sept. 30th!

Our trail groomers would recommend something studded for those early, un-plowed mornings! 😎

Also... The 6 clubs in BC who have the most coupons redeemed in their local shop will win some prize money from CCBC!!

Help support your local ski club, and make sure that you make it to the trails safely all winter!

The Trail Troll has been spotted on vacation down at the lake. We know how our Trail Troll loves a sunny spot!! 🌞

Many of us at CNSC will be returning from our summer break soon to start on the early trail and infrastructure work which makes the Paulson Ski Trails keep getting better each year!

We'll be sure to post some fun photos of the projects and work as they happen along the cabins and trails. Stay tuned!

We hope you're all enjoying this final summer month, wherever you are!

Hey Everybody!

Thanks to everyone who filled out our Club Survey over the past month.
This gives us the insights we need to plan our work and projects so that the Paulson Ski Area can better serve the community and everyone who uses the trails there.

Oh, and by the way -- This is our new snowmobile -- at the shop, and ready to join the fleet for our upcoming season!

The entire Castlegar Nordic team extends our thanks for the tremendous support toward the purchase of this sled. Rolf is headed up to the club tomorrow with the new grooming components for the Ginzus and Roller Packers. We're all excited for crisp tracks and fresh corduroy in November!

We hope that everyone has a great summer out there!

Long time member, volunteer and former Secretary John Adams has left on his final journey. Longtime Forester, Teacher, Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather, his love of the outdoors was his passion and reflected in the service he gave to our club and community. A good man who lived life to the fullest and encouraged everyone to do the same.
Our thoughts are with his family and friends and we wrap them all in the love of his beloved ski community. R.I.P. John

Congratulations to Christine Wayling who won the Track The Troll draw and will be receiving a free membership for this next season! Christine found the Trail Troll twice this season in her travels on the Paulson Ski Trails.

But she wasn't the only one tracking the Trail Troll. This year had many finds and many skiers out Troll hunting. We had almost 40 submissions this season, and 5 skiers found the troll in all 3 hiding spots!! Check out some of the excellent submissions we received....

Be sure to keep your eyes peeled next year as we have plans to release even more trolls onto the trails, which means better chances of finding them each time you go out skiing!

Thanks for playing, everyone!

Today marks the end of our Club Fundraiser!

Thanks to all of your help, we reached out funding target and even a little more! In total we were able to raise over $15,000, including the matching funds provided by Nordiq Canada!

All of this will go toward our new Snowmobile purchase, as well as parts replacements on both our roller-packers and Ginzu track-setters. We're looking forward to having refurbished and functional equipment to carry us into the next few seasons. I'm sure you'll notice the results in the tracks on your next ski at the beautiful Paulson Ski Trails.

Our ski club is so thankful to all of the incredible supporters we have here in our community! Thanks to everyone who came out to our Fundraiser Movie Night. It was great to have the chance to celebrate and thank our donors in-person.

We'd also like to thank those local businesses who supported our event: Thank you , for donating prizes and auction items!! Your support for our club is much appreciated!

Thank you to Cross-country BC, Nordiq Canada and Canada Helps for organizing this annual fundraiser opportunity and providing matching funding.

Are those cross-country blues getting to you as we approach the shoulder season? 😢

Here's a couple of suggestions:

1. Check out this great TV interview with local snow sculptor, Keith Shelefontiuk, who creates all of the incredible snow creations on Mud Lake! It will be sure to bring some nostalgia for the trails.

2. Join us for our Season-end Fundraiser Celebration and Movie Night at the Castle Theatre, this Sunday the 29th at 7pm! We'll be playing Ski Trail Trivia, watching short ski films from around the world, and saying farewell to another great season together.
Come on out! Make a donation of any amount, online or at the door. Support your favourite ski trails. Celebrate with skiers, staff and volunteers. It's a fun crew!

Two weeks ago we celebrated the an excellent winter of skiing and fun with our SDP Youth Programs. ⛷🎉

We saw lots of smiles, lots of learning, and friendships happening out on the snow. We welcomed several new families to the program this year as well - And that's about as much as you can hope for as a coach!

Our Track Attack team took advantage of great conditions and had several long hut-trips this winter. Many of them completed the 16km and 20km Loppet routes on their own! Impressive!😲

The Jackrabbits learned to skate ski this winter, and even to start racing. The Bunny rabbits had a great time in the snow and have started to become talented little skiers!

We even got to cap off the season with the Kootenay Cup this year, where the kids were able to put their skills to show on the home track!

The Youth Programs are always one of our favourite parts of the ski season. It is so important that the next generations in our community get the opportunity to spend time being active, social and having fun in the outdoors all winter long! ☃❄

Thanks so much to all of the coaches and parents who help run this program. It just keeps getting better each year!

Thanks to Kal Tire and CCBC for the funding and support.

Does your family want to learn to ski? Kids and adult lessons will start up again same time next winter.
We can't wait for the next season!
