The ACHA is pleased to name Acadia Axewomen forward and assistant captain Jenni Simpson, from Glovertown, Newfoundland and Labrador, the 2025-26 Player of the Year!

This is Jenni’s third time earning the award — a testament to her commitment and dedication to continuously being one of the league’s most elite and well-disciplined players.

A deadly offensive force to be reckoned with every night, Jenni tied for the league lead in points while collecting just two penalty minutes in her final season as an Axewomen. She led the team to a second consecutive regular-season championship, followed by a runner-up finish at the 2026 ACHA Championship.

🏒 2025-26 ACHA ROOKIE OF THE YEAR 🌟

The ACHA is proud to present this year’s 2025-26 Rookie of the Year award to Acadia Axewomen defender Shayne Burgoyne, from Fredericton, New Brunswick!

Shayne impressed in her first season, making a significant impact both defensively and offensively, and helping the Axewomen earn back-to-back regular-season titles and a championship runner-up result.

THE HURRICANE ROARS FOUR IN A ROW! 🏆🌪️

The Holland College Hurricanes are four-time defending and five all-time Atlantic Collegiate Hockey Association champions!

An early third-period surge and a dramatic last-second save by graduating goaltender Emma Arsenault secured them a 3-2 win over Acadia.

With their fifth championship, they tie UNB for most ACHA titles all-time and double their lead over active programs (five versus Acadia’s three). Holland finishes back-to-back postseasons 𝐮𝐧𝐛𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐧.

Congratulations to all teams on an incredible 2025-26 ACHA season — and a special thank you to the CBU Capers for hosting another great championship.

PREVIEW:
• Acadia looks to advance to the finals for a fifth consecutive year. The Axewomen punched their ticket last year with a 4-0 semifinal victory over CBU.
• The Capers haven't made the finals since winning the league title in Prince Edward Island in 2020. After a winless round robin, they hope to make the third time the charm in front of their fans in their new home.
• Acadia defeated CBU 5-3 in round-robin action on Friday.
