Please warm up if you are going out to shovel, consider it interval training.
tips:
Be mindful of the “lift and twist” try to push the snow in a straight line
Warm up / stretch - a 5-10 minute warm up to activate the back of the legs, lower back will go a long way to avoiding strains and muscle irritation.
Consider intervals when shoveling - 60-90 seconds of work - then pause and rest with deep breathing for 15 seconds.
Shoveling is great exercise, look at it differently and enjoy some outdoor training.
