Jason Banyard has been one of the players we have been extremely happy to see commit to our academy. He’s a prime example of a player who had the speed, strength, skill and mentality to be a top player but just needed the extra training to focus on small details in his game. An already very effective player adding quality positional work and expanding on his technique through our academy has been awesome to see. He can play multiple positions but has recently excelled on the back line as a centre back and he has made life horrible for opposing strikers and midfielders. He easily has natural ability, the self belief and leadership qualities to reach high levels in this sport and we are confident we will assist him in doing that!

Hometown: Langley

Position: mainly centre back. Also fullback, winger, striker

Current team/ training environments: Fraser Valley Selects, Elevation Academy, Abbotsford Men’s teams

Goals in the near future: to keep improving and to make the most of any opportunities at higher levels in the coming seasons

Best traits: speed, can play multiple positions, 1v1 ability offensively and defensively, communication on the field, leadership

Lewis Heibert has shown these past couple years what hard work and the right coaching can do for a player’s development. He continues to improve in all areas of the game as a goalkeeper. His technique and footwork have caught up to his work ethic and attitude which has allowed him to join into VMSL Premier men’s training for quite some time now. He recently trialed and signed for the UFV (University of Fraser Valley) men’s soccer team for the upcoming Usports season. We know he will excel at the next level and are happy to be a part of his journey in the sport.

Hometown: Abbotsford

Current Club/ Training environments: Fraser Valley Selects, BB5 United VMSL Premier, University of Fraser Valley

Position: Goalkeeper

Goals in the near future in the sport: play university soccer leading to semi-pro/ pro

Best Traits: calm in high pressure situations, strong decision making, aggressive 1 v 1, confident and secure handling, motivation to always improve

Bruce Silver has shown a ton of progress this past season as a striker. He affects the game very well both offensively and defensively. In possession has can linkup well and makes quality runs in behind. Whether he scores himself or not he helps his team create chances constantly. Defensively, he can press as much as any coach needs and has always caused problems for the oppositions back line with his intensity, strength and acceleration. We’re positive that if he continues in this direction with the willingness to keep working on his game, he will play to a very high level. We’re excited to help him get trials in the near future.

“Train Like the Pro’s”

Spend 4 days training in a professional environment under the guidance of Elevation Academy coaches Connor MacMillan and Aleks Gundelj, both with highly qualified resumes coaching the top youth tiers. They also bring experience coaching Men’s Premier in BC and professional player experience. The goal of this camp is to also give players the chance to work more on their specific positions to feel sharper for their upcoming seasons!
