Starting Monday April 6 kids 10 and under train from 4-5PM . Kids 11 and older 5- 6:30PM April
Membership Fees are due in the coming days. Please advise if your wrestler is skipping any practices for an extended period

Well, this was fun!! The 2026 Sportys are a new initiative to recognized excellence within the Chilliwack sports community. There was a clear effort to be inclusive and engage organizations at every level. We were grouped in the " IN THE RING, ON THE MAT" category that included boxing, wrestling and martial arts.
It was very encouraging to be recognized as the TOP PERFORMING program. We were one of the smallest organizations nominated and the only non-profit in the final five. Further to that three of the five athletes nominated as TOP PERFORMERS are affiliated with the Grapplers. This includes Zoey Uzeta, Finley Arnold, and Elijah Lau who was recognized as the TOP INDIVIDUAL PERFORMER overall. Of note, the voting format for the Awards was unique in that it allowed supporters the opportunity to vote on more than one occasion. We were successful because our members held us in high enough regard to vote for us frequently. Further to that our current success would not have been possible without the support of our community partners Chwk Community Services and the Chwk Giants. As founding members of the club both Coach Americo and I are extremely grateful.

Just a reminder no wrestling practice tomorrow evening Friday March 20th.

Spring Break Schedule, Sat am practices return to Rosedale Zen Bjj & Fitness.

Just to confirm our Chwk Landing practices will continue Monday Wednesday Friday 6- 730

Effective immediately, however Saturday morning practices will return on an ongoing basis to the Zen Bjj & Fitness 48640 Yale Rd. (Rosedale ) V4Z 0B1


Board Members
A big shout out and thanks to Nixon's parents Kendy & Julie. Kendy has had to step down from her role as one of our directors. We don't expect her to be much of a stranger as she has taken on additional responsibilities with the Chilliwack Giants. Together Kendy and Julie provided important depth to our promotional efforts and in particular with respect to social media.

With Kendy's departure we have been playing shorthanded for some time. It is with great relief that we announce that Eric Andre will be joining our board of directors. Eric is a founding member of Zen Bjj & Fitness. His wrestling roots are out of Saskatchewan where he achieved notable competitive success in both wrestling and Bjj.

Eric has both wrestling and small business experience that we have come to learn is an rare combination. Further to that he has important relationships within the Indigenous community that will help us move ahead with greater participation at the North American Indigenous Games.

More Announcements Pending.

With additional board members we anticipate being able implement some initiatives that will strengthen both our own infrastructure and increase wrestling advocacy throughout the region. More to follow.

Hi Again,

In reviewing an update from the Sporty Awards group it was confirmed that the actual voting deadline is 12 noon on Monday March 16th. As discussed, a unique feature of this voting process is that everyone is allowed to VOTE ONCE ON A DAILY BASIS !

Please take a moment in the coming days and support our nominees with frequent voting in the days ahead.

Hi there ,

We were recently made aware that Chwk Grapplers Wrestling has been nominated for a community Sports award. There are several categories and we have been nominated for our achievements within the " IN THE RING or ON THE MAT " grouping. As an organization we have made the final five.

In addition, a number of our members and student coaches have also been nominated.
Those listed are Elijah Lau, Finley Arnold and Zoey Uzeta.
Within the individual groupings(Super Star) Americo was nominated as a Coach and Bill was nominated within the volunteer group..

The voting remains open until March 20th and the interesting part is that you are not limited to one vote. Rather you can vote EVERYDAY until the 20th. .

Some feedback we continue to receive is that not many people are aware of our program. Performing well at the "Sporty Awards" could further raise awareness of our program. Please take a moment and support our nominees by voting frequently until the deadline.

Building Resilience On & Off the Field

The Chilliwack Giants Youth Football program is proud to host an evening dedicated to supporting our athletes as young people — strengthening resilience, decision-making, communication, and mental well-being.

This event is about connection and empowerment, not discipline.

The evening will include:
• Short, impactful talks from respected leaders
• A fireside-style group discussion
• A Q&A session with the players

Featured speakers:
Nathan Rourke – BC Lions Quarterback & 2025 CFL Most Outstanding Player
Angus Reid – Former CFL Player & Author
Mariel Anderson – Founder of Forged Youth

Each athlete will receive a copy of Angus Reid’s book, Teenager: A Story About Finding Your Way.
