This is going to be a challenge for a non-techy person. A strategy to self film to add more visual interest (and illustrate some ride impressions) to bike reviews and other content… today was trying things with the GoPro and quite the letdown… that’ll be relegated to POV footage. On the bright side, I got multiple laps of some favourite sections of trail and turned a 1hour loop into 2hours and got some trail running in ;)

Well, Bike Bros is now closed. Thank you to customers, staff and suppliers over the last 23 years of business. Being able to make a living while being immersed in the bike business has been a dream come true.
As many have asked what I'm up to next... officially we're calling it retirement but... I feel like I've got a pile to share with people about bikes so I'm carrying on and hoping followers of the shop want to follow along too.
I will be focusing on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/) but will also carry on with the other Social Media (like Facebook & Instagram) under this new name.
I'm not trying to sell anything. Just offering bike reviews, bike industry thoughts and general cycling information I think is interesting.

Don’t mind me… just over here building personal dream bikes.
.
This is my Freeride bike… because I’ll never freeride anything requiring more than 145mm rear, 160mm front of squish.
…
Otherwise, piles of new Shimano bits including Saint Pedals… which look amazing. Shimano Bike the Cane Creek Cycling Components kitsuma shock should be fun to play with too. I already know I like the Esker Cycles Orion suspension design from my time on the Rowl. This is gonna be rad!

Is it false advertising to call this a bike shop now?
.
The last bike is sold.

With exiting the shop, I’m going to have a lot of time to ride…. Gotta have enough bikes to keep up with every mood or trail.
.
So looking forward to seeing where this beast fits in. Thanks Esker Cycles for making this beauty.

How is this beautiful bike still here? Size 3 (medium) Norco Revolver 2 - New - 120 mm rear travel, 130mm fork, carbon, Fox 34SL fork, float SL shock, Shimano XT wireless shifting.
.
One of the best light trail / down country bikes out there!

Day 2 after closing… spent in the shop… wow, so much has sold over the last month but there’s still a pile of stuff to sell through.
We’ll open the shop on Fridays and Saturdays in August to move through the remaining inventory.
Attached is a screenshot of all the bikes remaining…
We also have a pile of service wheels and a few fancy wheels, drivetrain parts, tires, tubes, trail runners, clothing.

Day 1 after “closing”. What do we do? Go riding with Rob, the service writer. We’d honestly be thrilled to be riding with all the staff going many years back. We’ve been lucky enough to work with such a great group of people over the years: love you all and thank you!
.
Over the next month Andrea and I plan to be open on Fridays and Saturdays, with the chance of the open sign getting flipped on during random times we’re inside cleaning up.
.
Philip and Rob are taking this rare (in a bike shop) opportunity to take hot weather vacations in August. Erik is already making plans and John already found a “retired guy” job even closer to his house. Brett will have more time to fix Andra’s bike and be on Dad duty. Thanks again guys.
