One of my favourite parts of coaching is that every person needs something a little different. Some people need a cue to slow down. Others just need a tiny adjustment and suddenly the movement feels completely different.

That's why you'll rarely see us standing in one spot while everyone works out. We're constantly walking around, watching how people move, making small corrections and helping them get a little better every session. Those little changes might not look like much, but over time they make a huge difference. πŸ’€πŸ’ͺ

If you've been thinking about getting started but aren't sure where to begin, book your FREE Consultation and we'll show you what coaching at Wake The Dead Fitness is all about.

The first month isn't about keeping up with everyone else... It's about showing up.
One of the hardest things to do is walk through the gym doors for the first time and I don't think people give themselves enough credit for that. Everyone you see lifting heavier, moving better, or looking confident... they all started somewhere too. They didn't get there after one week or one month. They gave themselves the time to learn, improve and trust the process.

If you're comparing yourself to someone who's been training for years, you're missing the biggest win of all... you started. Be patient. Be open to learning. Keep showing up. The rest will come. πŸ’€πŸ’ͺ

Sometimes the biggest transformations don't come from training five or six days a week. They come from showing up, trusting the process and staying consistent. That's Jenny.

She first started training with me back in our garage gym in February 2025. Her goal was simple: get stronger, build muscle and feel better. Since then, she's trusted every step of the process and that's exactly why she's where she is today. One of the things I admire most about Jenny is that she never needs to be entertained. She doesn't chase the latest fitness trend, she doesn't complain when the program gets repetitive and she doesn't question whether the basics are "enough." She shows up, puts in the work and lets the results speak for themselves.

Watching her go from lifting some weights to confidently deadlifting super heavy been incredible, but what impresses me even more is her mindset. She's coachable, patient and willing to learn. Those qualities are a coach's dream because that's where real progress happens.

The funny thing is... Jenny is basically my twin. πŸ˜‚ We laugh, we give each other a hard time and our sessions have never felt like just another appointment. Seeing her move into Semi-Private Personal Training is exciting because I know she's ready for that next step... even if I already miss our one-on-one sessions.

Jenny reminds me that you don't need to do everything perfectly. You just need to keep showing up, trust your coach and stay patient. I'm incredibly proud of everything you've accomplished, Jenny. Thank you for trusting me for all this time. It has been an absolute pleasure watching you become stronger and more confident πŸ’€β€οΈ

P.S. Jenny...
Rule #1... Stop showing off. πŸ’€πŸ˜‚ You're getting a little too buff... At this rate, we're going to have to start opening the garage door for you to fit through! πŸ’ͺπŸšͺ🀣

JK...Keep it up... but don't think we are making your workouts any easier. 😏

Sometimes the hardest part isn't finding the motivation to go to the gym... it's finding a place where you actually want to be. When Gabby first came to us, she told me she felt stuck. She wanted something different and wanted to push herself but she also realized she didn't really know how to progress anymore. She even told me she thought she was training hard before... until she experienced what being coached actually felt like. That made me smile because that's exactly what we try to create here.

A gym should feel like a place where you can take your cape off after a long day, switch your brain off for an hour, have a few laughs, be challenged and know you're surrounded by people who genuinely want to see you succeed. Having a coach isn't just about someone counting your reps. It's about having someone who can see things you can't, help you progress and remind you you're capable of more than you think.

Hearing Gabby say that Wake The Dead feels more like home than a gym honestly means more to me than any compliment about the workouts. That's the environment we've always wanted to build, and I'm so proud that it's exactly what our members are experiencing. πŸ’€β€οΈ

Is not because you're not working hard enough... is because you stopped training with purpose.

Sometimes that means lifting too heavy and losing the purpose of the exercise. Other times it means never challenging yourself enough to actually progress. Learning to judge your effort takes time and sometimes it takes a coach to help you understand what that feeling should be.

Next workout... stop guessing. πŸ’€πŸ’ͺ

Somewhere along the way, you may start believing that turning 40 means you have to slow down...πŸͺ¦πŸ€«πŸ˜‚ I completely understand why it can feel that way, but from what Mike and I have experienced ourselves, that simply hasn't been the case. We're actually stronger today than we were years ago, not because we trained harder, but because we trained smarter, stayed consistent and kept challenging ourselves.

Your body is still capable of adapting. You can still build muscle. You can still lift heavier. You can still surprise yourself with what you're capable of. It might take a little more patience, but it's absolutely possible. Don't let your age decide what you're capable of πŸ˜‰. Give yourself the opportunity to find out instead. Six months from now, or even a year from now, you might look back and realize you were capable of so much more than you ever imagined.

Most people don't fail because they picked the wrong program. They fail because they never actually get started. When someone joins us, we don't ask them to change their entire life overnight. We ask them to do three things: start training, make one small change at a time and stay consistent. That's it 😎

You don't need the perfect diet, the perfect routine or the perfect timing. You just need a plan you can stick to long ENOUGH to see results. If you've been putting it off because you don't know where to start, book your FREE Intro Consultation and we'll show you exactly what your first week should look like.
