Cochrane Lions Rodeo 61st Annual Cochrane Lions Rodeo
World-Class Rodeo, Small-Town Feel
📅 Sept 3rd–6th, 2027
www.cochranerodeo.com We hope you enjoy the show!

Welcome to the Cochrane Labour Day Rodeo hosted annually through the August long weekend. Still considered one of the toughest Amateur Rodeo events in Canada, we recently earned sanctioning by the (FCA) Foothill Cowboys Association. Following in close footsteps to the infamous Calgary Stampede, you can expect to see many of the same riders & stock showcased there, but in a much more intimate setting. In recent years, our non-profit Cochrane Rodeo has become one of the largest community projects hosted by the Cochrane Lions Club and promoted by the 17,000+ residents of Cochrane. With ticket prices starting at only $20 per person & children under 7 FREE, it's also one of the best entertainment values out there. This event requires tremendous support from over 75 Sponsors and nearly 150 Volunteers and committee chairpersons. C'mon out to Cochrane Alberta and enjoy a little Western hospitality and a whole lot of nail-biting excitement.

We couldn’t be prouder that two of our former Queens are among 7 women striving to become the next Calgary Stampede Princess.

Best of luck to both Kyla Lightfoot (right) and Sonia van der Burgh (left) in the competition. Bring it home Ladies!

🤠🐴 Happy National Day of the Cowgirl! 🐴🤠

Today, the Cochrane Rodeo proudly celebrates the women who live, work and play with a little grit, a lot of heart, and a deep love for the Western way of life.

To the cowgirls who get up before sunrise, saddle up after a long day, haul horses down the highway, work the ranch, compete in the arena, raise families, build businesses and show up for their communities — today is for you. ❤️

Cowgirls are more than boots and hats. They represent strength, independence, determination, tradition and community.

From the young girl dreaming of her first horse to the seasoned horsewoman who has spent a lifetime in the saddle — every cowgirl has a story worth celebrating.

🌾 Here’s to the women who keep the Western spirit alive.

Tag a cowgirl who inspires you and let her know she’s appreciated today! 🤠❤️

Happy National Day of the Cowgirl from all of us at the Cochrane Lions Club & Event Centre!
