Stop starving yourself. Your 40s require a completely different strategy. 🛑

If you are in perimenopause and still trying to lose weight by slashing calories and pushing through intense workouts, your body is actively fighting back.

Here’s why: As estrogen drops, your body becomes highly sensitive to stress and insulin. When you severely cut food and over-exercise, your nervous system panics. It flags this as danger and intentionally stores visceral fat around your belly to protect your organs.

You don't need less food—you need a shift in your nutritional ratios. To unlock fat loss and keep your hormones happy, stop obsessing over calories and start tracking these two numbers at every main meal:
📈 At least 30 grams of protein
📈 At least 10 grams of fiber

This keeps you full, stabilizes insulin, and tells your body it is safe to release stored fat. Hit FOLLOW for more, realistic perimenopause tips that actually help you start feeling like yourself again!

Everyone talks about estrogen, but nobody is talking about LOW TESTOSTERONE in women. And honestly? It feels completely awful.

If you are navigating perimenopause, look out for these 4 signs:
1️⃣ Crushing fatigue that sleep or coffee won't fix.
2️⃣ Losing muscle mass even though you are still consistently lifting weights.
3️⃣ Zero interest in s*x.
4️⃣ Constant dry, burning eyes (Yes, really! Testosterone regulates the oil glands in your eyelids. When it drops, your eyes completely dry out).

Midlife hormonal shifts are way more than just hot flashes and night sweats. Your nervous system and body are rewriting the rules.

To every woman over 40 who has a kitchen counter full of sleep supplements she bought out of pure desperation... please stop trying to fix everything at once.

I know exactly how the cycle goes. You wake up at 3:00 AM, eyes wide open, pull out your phone, and start frantically searching the internet for answers. By morning, you’ve decided you need to change your diet, buy three new vitamins, overhaul your bedroom, and start a perfect 60-minute wind-down routine. It is completely exhausting, and honestly? It’s probably keeping you awake. Trying to completely change your entire life overnight puts an immense amount of pressure on your nervous system.

In perimenopause, your body is already navigating a massive hormonal shift. It doesn't NEED the added stress of an unrealistic checklist. You don't need to become a completely different person to get a good night's rest. You just need small, manageable changes that actually fit the life you are living right now. Tomorrow, give yourself permission to drop the crazy expectations. Just pick one simple thing to focus on:
1. Get outside for 10 minutes of morning sunlight.
2. Or, try to wake up at the exact same time every day.
3. Or, get some gentle movement in during the afternoon.
Start there. Let your body adapt. When you stop obsessing over fixing the problem perfectly, your nervous system can finally relax. And when you finally start sleeping better, you'll be amazed at how quickly you start feeling like yourself again.

To every woman over 40 who is staring at the ceiling at 3 AM... your sleep tonight actually starts tomorrow morning. ❤️

When perimenopause begins to disrupt your sleep, the natural reaction is to fix your bedroom environment. We buy cooler sheets, block out the blue light, or read books before bed, and yet, we still find ourselves waking up entirely unrefreshed.

But here is what is missing: your body's master internal clock relies on clear, powerful signals to separate day from night. Changing midlife hormones can confuse that clock, making your body feel awake when it should be resting. The single best way to realign it? Morning momentum. The second your feet hit the floor tomorrow, step outside into the natural daylight for 10 minutes and move your body. You are sending an unmistakable, biological message to your brain: "It's daytime." This natural morning light anchors your daily cortisol curve, clears morning fog, and builds up the sleep pressure your nervous system requires to fall (and stay) asleep when your head hits the pillow tonight. It isn’t just about your bedtime routine. It is about how you signal your body throughout the day.

To every woman over 40 who wakes up exhausted even after 8 hours of sleep... you aren't doing anything wrong. It's not a willpower issue. It's a biological shift. ☀️

There is a specific kind of bone-deep fatigue that comes with perimenopause. It’s the kind where you open your eyes in the morning and immediately feel like you need to go right back to sleep. Most women blame themselves, their stress levels, or their diet. But the reality is that changing estrogen and progesterone levels alter your sleep architecture. They rob you of your deep sleep stages, meaning you might be unconscious for eight hours, but your brain never actually enters recovery mode.

If you are trapped in this cycle, try this coach-approved lifestyle shift tomorrow:
The 30-Minute Rule: Wait an a half before reaching for your morning coffee. (90 minutes is ideal, but let's start small)
Get Outside: Step into natural daylight for 10 minutes before you look at a screen or sit at your desk.

This simple combination sends a clear signal to your brain's master clock. It stops morning grogginess naturally and starts a biological countdown timer that builds up "sleep pressure," making it much easier for your body to transition into deep, healing sleep tonight.

You aren't lazy, and you aren't broken. Your body is just navigating a major transition, and adjusting your daily routines can make all the difference.📥

Why are we still being told to eat 1,200 calories when we hit our 40s? 🤦‍♀️

When you drop your calories super low in perimenopause, your body doesn't burn fat faster, it panics. It spikes stress hormones (cortisol), breaks down lean muscle, and slows your metabolism to protect itself.

To lose fat safely, you need to know your TDEE (Total Daily Energy Expenditure). This is the baseline energy your body needs just to function and live daily life.

Here is how to calculate yours today:

• Head over to tdeecalculator.net

• Plug in your age, height, weight, and activity level.

• Find your Maintenance Calories.

• Subtract just 300–400 calories from that total for gentle, sustainable fat loss.

Stop starving your body in midlife. Fuel it properly so your metabolism can actually work for you instead of against you.

Why your generic diet isn't working (and how to fix it today) ➡️

If you are just cutting out carbs or blindly eating 1,200 calories a day because a generic plan told you to, you are playing the fitness game on hard mode. To actually see results, you need to know your TDEE (Total Daily Energy Expenditure). This is your body's "break-even" calorie number.

I put together a quick 30-second walkthrough in this video showing you exactly how to use a free online calculator to find your specific number. Here is the step-by-step:
Step 1: Head to TDEECalculator.net
Step 2: Enter your age, weight, and height.
Step 3: Select your activity level (tip: if you work a desk job, select "Sedentary" even if you workout a few times a week!).
Step 4: Look at your "Maintenance Calories" (this is your starting point). Once you have your number, comment it below! Let's figure out your target goals together. 👇

Have you had a moment lately where you walked into a room, completely forgot why you went in there, and immediately thought, "Oh no... what is happening to my brain?" 🙋‍♀️

You are not alone, and you are not losing your mind.

There is a massive difference between perimenopause brain fog and actual cognitive decline:

• Brain fog is forgetting where you parked your car. Dementia is not knowing how to drive it home.

• Brain fog is struggling to recall a simple word mid-sentence. Dementia is not recognizing the people in the room.

During perimenopause, shifting estrogen levels temporarily drop the amount of glucose (energy) sent to your brain cells. It’s a real, physical response to hormonal changes. It is NOT early dementia.

Drop a "YES" in the comments if you’ve experienced this brain fog lately, and share this post to give another woman some peace of mind today!

If you're doing "all the right health things" like eating oatmeal for breakfast, but you're still fighting stubborn midsection weight and 10 AM brain fog... here is why: 🥣

Plain oatmeal is mostly carbohydrates. When you eat it on an empty stomach without enough protein or healthy fats, your blood sugar spikes, and fast.

Shortly after, your insulin crashes, leaving you tired, hungry, and reaching for extra coffee or sweets before lunch even hits.

The fix isn't skipping breakfast or starving yourself. It's swapping the low-protein meal for a 30-gram protein balance (like scrambled eggs with spinach or a high-protein Greek yogurt bowl) to keep your energy steady for hours.

Ready to stop guessing what to eat in the morning?

You don't have to accept weak bones as an inevitable part of getting older. 🦴💪

During perimenopause, declining estrogen accelerates bone resorption. This means your body breaks down bone faster than it can replace it! But bone is living tissue, and it responds directly to mechanical stress.

Two ways to stimulate bone growth in your 40s & 50s:

1. Heavy Resistance Training: Ditch the 2 lb pink dumbbells. Lift weights that challenge your muscles and force your bones to adapt and get denser.

2. Impact Movement: High-impact forces (like stomping, jumping jacks, or skipping) send mechanical signals to your skeleton to lay down new bone cells.

You can rebuild density at ANY age. You just need the right stimulus.
