Sometimes, the smallest things can feel like the biggest signs ๐Ÿ’™

A dime found in an unexpected place.
A song that comes on at just the right moment.
A familiar smell that brings them rushing back.
A cardinal appearing out of nowhere.
A dream that feels so real.
A memory that suddenly fills your heart.

Are they really signs from Heaven?
Maybe. Maybe not.

But when youโ€™re grieving someone you love, sometimes you donโ€™t need an explanation. You just need that little moment that makes you stop and think, โ€œMaybe that was you.โ€ โค๏ธ

For me, I choose to believe that sometimes the people we love find little ways to remind us theyโ€™re still close.

So when you find that dime, hear that song, see that bird, or feel that familiar presenceโ€ฆ take what resonates with you. Hold onto it. Let it bring you comfort.

Because sometimes, a little sign is all our heart needs to feel close to them again. ๐Ÿ’™

Twice this week, someone asked me about Davis.

Both times, they followed it with, โ€œIโ€™m sorry to bring it up.โ€

My response?

Donโ€™t be sorry. โค๏ธ We love to talk about him.

Please donโ€™t ever feel like you have to avoid saying his name because he died by su***de.

Itโ€™s okay to talk about su***de.
Itโ€™s okay to talk about our boy.
Itโ€™s okay to ask questions.
Itโ€™s okay to remember.

Because if we donโ€™t talk about it, how will people know about Davis? How will they know the person he was, the life he lived, the people he loved, and the beautiful impact he had on those around him?

Davis was so much more than the way he died. He was 19 years of life, love, laughter, friendship, hard work, sports, family and memories that we will carry forever.

That is why we keep talking.
That is why we keep sharing his story.

That is why we hold our annual golf tournament and raise money for mental health awareness and su***de prevention.

We want Davisโ€™s story to help start conversations. We want people to know that itโ€™s okay to ask, โ€œAre you okay?โ€ Itโ€™s okay to reach out. Itโ€™s okay to talk.

So pleaseโ€ฆ say his name. โค๏ธ

Ask about him.
Tell us a story about him.
Keep the conversation going.
Davis deserves to be remembered.
His story deserves to be told.

And we will never stop talking about our boy. ๐Ÿ’™

If youโ€™re struggling or having thoughts of su***de, call or text 988 in Canada.
You are not alone.

Why do we talk so much about mental health? ๐Ÿ’š

Because behind every statistic is a person. A life. A family. Friends who love them. And a story that should have had more chapters.

We talk about mental health because people matter. Because asking someone how theyโ€™re really doing can matter. Because starting a conversation can open a door to hope.

We talk about it because we know what it feels like to lose someone we love. We lost Davis.
๐Ÿ’™ And we will forever wish he had known just how loved he was and that he didnโ€™t have to face his struggles alone.

This is why we keep talking.
This is why we keep raising awareness.
This is why we keep supporting mental health and su***de prevention.

Keep checking in. Keep listening. Keep talking. You never know whose life you might touch.

๐Ÿ’š You are never alone.

๐Ÿ“ž If you or someone you know is struggling with thoughts of su***de, call or text 988 in Canada.

In memory of Davis. Forever 19. Forever loved. Forever missed. ๐Ÿ’™

๐Ÿ’™ Five years without you, Davis.

Davis was one of the good ones. Full of life. He loved sports, his friends and his family. He was the kind of person who would do anything for anyone. He was a hard worker, a great friend, a loving brother and son, and someone who left a piece of himself in the hearts of so many people.

Five years later, he is still loved, still missed, and forever remembered by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Not a day goes by that he isn't thought of.

This is why we continue to do what we do through the Davis Didham Memorial Golf Tournament, keeping his memory alive while helping others and reminding people that they don't have to face their struggles alone.

You are never alone.

If you are having thoughts of su***de, call or text 988 for support.

Start the conversation. It could save a life. ๐Ÿ’™

Always remembered. Forever loved. Forever 19 ๐Ÿฆ‹

๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ Burn a Candle With Us Tonight at 8 PM ๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ

Tonight, we light a candle for Su***de Awareness Day, for those we have lost, for the families and friends left behind, and for everyone who may be struggling in silence.
For us, this light shines especially bright for Davis. ๐Ÿ’™

Five years after losing Davis, his memory continues to be at the heart of everything we do. Through the Davis Didham Memorial Golf Tournament, we continue to turn our loss into something that can help others, raising funds for mental health awareness, su***de prevention, and Mental Health First Aid training in our schools.

Tonight at 8 PM, we invite you to light a candle with us. ๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ
Take a moment to remember.
Take a moment to reach out.
Take a moment to remind someone that they matter.

One candle can be a small light, but together, we can shine a whole lot brighter. ๐Ÿ’™

For Davis.
For those we've lost.
For those still fighting.
For those left behind.
You are never alone.

๐Ÿ’š September 10 โ€” World Su***de Prevention Day

Today is World Su***de Prevention Day, a day to raise awareness, break the stigma, encourage conversations about mental health, and remind people that you are never alone and your life matters.

For us, this day carries a very personal meaning. We do this work in memory of Davis.

We lost Davis to su***de, and while we can never change what happened, we can choose to turn our heartbreak into something that may help someone else.

This year's 5th Annual Davis Didham Memorial Golf Tournament brought our community together once again, and we are incredibly proud to share that $23,059.00 was raised. ๐Ÿ’™

Every registration, sponsorship, donation, volunteer hour and helping hand contributed to that number. But to us, it represents so much more than a dollar amount.

It represents hope.
It represents awareness.
It represents conversations.
It represents helping people recognize when someone may be struggling.
And it represents keeping Davis's memory alive by helping others.

Our goal is to continue supporting mental health awareness, su***de prevention and reducing the stigma surrounding mental health, with a special focus on our youth and getting Mental Health First Aid training into our schools.

We cannot bring Davis back. But we can make sure his life continues to make a difference.

For Davis.
For our youth.
For our communities.
For anyone who may be struggling. ๐Ÿ’š

Thank you to every single person who has helped us turn a day of golf into something that reaches far beyond the golf course.

Together, we are making a difference. ๐Ÿ’™

๐Ÿ’œ SEPTEMBER IS SU***DE PREVENTION MONTH ๐Ÿ’œ

As we move from August to September, this month is a reminder that every life matters, every story matters, and no one should have to struggle alone.

For the Davis Didham Memorial, su***de prevention is more than something we talk about during the month of September. It is the heart of our mission. ๐Ÿ’™

We believe that mental health awareness and su***de prevention need to start with our youth. Our children spend a significant part of their lives at school, and teachers are often among the people who see them every single day. They can be in a unique position to notice when a young person may be struggling.

That is why one of our priorities is helping provide teachers and school staff with access to mental health resources, education and training, including Mental Health First Aid. Giving educators the tools to recognize the signs that someone may be struggling, know how to start a conversation, and understand where to turn for help can make a difference.

We cannot always see what someone is carrying behind a smile. But we can continue to build communities where people feel safe speaking up and asking for help.

Davis is the reason behind everything we do. We carry him with us as we continue to raise awareness, break the stigma surrounding mental health, and work toward helping other young people and families. ๐Ÿ’™

Check in.
Listen.
Be kind.
Start the conversation.

Because sometimes, one conversation can make a difference.

๐ŸŽ—๏ธ September โ€” Su***de Prevention Month
๐Ÿ’™ In memory of Davis, and for every person who needs to know that their life matters.
