“My kid trains ALL the time… but how do I know we’re training the RIGHT things?”

More training isn’t always better. The right training is.
At ISHP Labs inside ActiveLife Conditioning, ForceDeck testing gives us objective data on how an athlete produces force, absorbs force, stabilizes, lands and reacts, helping identify what actually needs attention and whether their training or rehab is working.

These 3 athletes have completely different goals: rugby return-to-play, alpine ski performance and hockey performance.
And their data tells 3 completely different stories.

That’s the point.

ForceDeck testing can support performance development, injury-risk management, athlete monitoring and rehab/return-to-sport. And a retest isn’t just about seeing green arrows. Sometimes the most valuable result is identifying what needs to be prioritized in training next.

The Sport Science team at ISHP Labs interprets the data and turns it into actionable information that can be shared with an athlete’s coach, strength coach, physiotherapist and/or sport IDT so that everyone can make better informed training decisions.

No performance team yet? ISHP Labs + ActiveLife Conditioning can help build and guide the next steps.
Especially for developing and multi-sport athletes, knowing what actually needs attention can mean less guesswork, more intentional training, and better use of the time and money already being invested in their sport.

Not sure what your athlete should be working on right now?

📩 DM “TEST” with their AGE + SPORT and we’ll help you figure out the best place to start.

ALC’r of the month: Jane Bruce

Jane has been training hard with us for the past two years. She has built her strength and conditioning with Coach Briar in Longevity Circuit, addressed imbalances in Pilates with our team and more recently, learned to play pickleball with Coach Aimee. Jane’s quiet, consistent work ethic is a great complement to any group setting that she is in.

Coach Briar has seen great progress over their time together. “Jane has grown in many areas since joining Active Life. Her coordination, form and strength to name a few. Jane is focused and dedicated to her workouts and we love having her in class!”

This dedication has allowed her the confidence to pick up a new sport in Pickleball. Coach Aimee has progressed her through ‘learn to play’ lessons into participating in our intro league each week and noted “Jane has a love, and addiction to pickleball that is inspiring! She works hard to improve her game, asks for help when needed, and inspires others to be better. I love having her, and her smiling face, in my leagues!”

Clinical Pilates Physiotherapist Katrina frequently has Jane as a participant in her Friday morningPilates class and says “Jane is the perfect example of what it means to bring a positive attitude to every Pilates class! She always brings a smile to her time on the mat, ready to take on any challenge.”

Keep up the great work Jane!

You train for your health. But do you know what your body actually needs you to work on?

Living longer is one thing. Staying strong, capable, independent and healthy while you do it is the goal.

The ISHP Labs Longevity Program, available at ActiveLife Conditioning, uses objective testing to identify the areas that can have the greatest impact on your healthspan, so your training, nutrition and lifestyle can be more intentional and individualized to you.

We assess key areas of healthy aging:

🦴 Bone Health: bone density, quality & fracture risk
❤️ Cardiovascular Health: VO₂ max & aerobic fitness
⚡ Metabolic Health: resting metabolism, fuel utilization & personalized nutrition insights
💪 Strength, Power & Balance: supporting mobility, resilience, independence & the activities you love
🧠 Cognitive Health: brain & visual function to support cognitive resilience as you age

But testing is only the beginning.

Your results show where you are today. We then help translate that data into clear training, nutrition and lifestyle priorities, so you know what to actually do with the information instead of following a generalized approach that may not reflect your physiology.

Want support between assessments? Next Step Health & Performance Coaching provides ongoing training programming, nutrition coaching, progressions and accountability to keep your plan aligned with your goals until it’s time to objectively re-test.

The goal isn’t simply more health data. It’s:

Measure → Understand → Take Action → Progress → Re-test.

Because there is no “standard” version of you, and there shouldn’t be a standard plan for how you age.

Ready to find out what your body needs for the years ahead?

DM ISHP Labs or ActiveLife team to get started.
