Around this time last year I got to be a part of a special team.
Watching them come together to accomplish something greater than themselves was a privilege, and lessons learned from that team carry on into teams I work with now.

Another exciting world championship starts today!

If you don't have a process for getting the most out of your day of training/competing, you won't improve as fast as you could be improving, or enjoy yourself as much as you could be.
I had fun working with Alpine Ontario Alpin and their athletes, coaches, and staff this winter on implementing some mental performance basics into their every day routines.
This one is geared a little more towards parents and younger athletes, but the premise can apply to anyone:
- give yourself credit for what you did well
- turn negatives into opportunities
- celebrate what you got to do, be grateful for your opportunities
"What should I (and shouldn't I) talk about with my kid during the car ride home?"
I've been asked some version of this question a lot over the years, and I'm sure I'll be asked a lot more.
I had some cool opportunities this winter, one of them being working with Alpine Ontario Alpin providing their athletes, coaches, and organization with some insights on the mental performance side of things.
The below video is a small snippet of some of the work I got to do. Although it sounds almost too simple, the basics are the basics for a reason! I hope you get something out of it.

Cam’s mentality can be mostly be summed up in these quotes.
His dedication to getting better every day and trusting himself and his process is not only what got him here, but what will take him to the next level.
I feel fortunate to have got to play a small part in his journey so far and can’t wait to see what he does next, although I think I know exactly what I will see.

These young men have much to be proud of.
What a year, what a run.
It was a privilege to play a small part in it, and a blast to be along for the ride.
Thankful for every player and staff member who made the year what it was.
