We practice stillness so we can move with purpose.
Through meditation, discipline, and the willingness to show up, we learn balance between calmness and dynamic movement.

At Yongho Hapkido martial arts studio, we learn harmony is found in every breath, bow, and technique. Martial arts teaches us that true strength begins with peace within.

Wiggle. Jiggle. Then roar. ๐Ÿฏ
Fundamental strength training builds the base for every kick, movement, and skill in martial arts. The stronger the foundation, the more powerful and controlled the technique becomes. Every crawl, shuffle, and floor drill teaches discipline, balance, and resilience before the big moves come alive.

Some people see duck walks, breakfalls, and high kicks as just exercises.

At Yongho Martial Arts, they are lessons in confidence, resilience, and believing in yourself. The duck walks build strong foundations. The breakfalls teach students how to get back up without fear. The kicks remind them they are capable of more than they think.

Step by step, training helps students grow stronger physically and mentally with a positive attitude that carries into everyday life! That is the heart of Hapkido and the way we train at Yongho Martial Arts.

Part 5: โ€œLegacy of the Braveโ€ (April 26, 2023)

Today, we stand in remembrance - not only of battles fought, but of the courage, compassion, and humanity that shone through them.

We honour the Canadian soldiers who came to Korea more than seventy years ago - young men and women who crossed oceans to protect a people they had never met, driven only by a belief in peace and freedom.

Their courage was not born of conquest, but of compassion - a will to defend life, dignity, and hope.

We also remember all those who continue to serve - soldiers, peacekeepers, and humanitarians who still stand on the front lines of suffering and conflict today, working to protect the innocent and preserve peace for generations yet to come.

To all who have given their strength, their youth, and their lives - we offer our deepest and everlasting gratitude.

Your sacrifices remind us of what truly matters: the value of every human life, the power of unity, and the sacredness of peace.

May we never forget that war is not the answer - that true victory lies not in destruction, but in understanding, compassion, and respect for one another.

Let the memory of your courage guide us toward a future where humanity stands together - not as enemies, but as one people, protecting the precious gift of peace.

Lest We Forget!

Part 4: โ€œLegacy of the Braveโ€ (April 26, 2023)

On April 26, 2023, the long journey of remembrance came to a close.

Guy Black, Clinton Lee, and Ryan Lee attended the Kapyeong Battle Commonwealth Commemoration Ceremony - standing alongside veterans, families, and officials who gathered to honour the courage shown here more than seventy years ago.

For Clinton, a Canadian of Korean descent, it was a deeply personal moment - a chance to express heartfelt gratitude to all the men and women from the Commonwealth nations who came to aid Korea in its time of need.

Soldiers from Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom fought shoulder to shoulder on these very hills - defending peace and freedom for a country and a people many had never met.

Their blood, their sweat, and their unwavering spirit helped shape the peace that endures today. And to their families and friends, especially those who lost loved ones in the Korean War - we offer our deepest thanks and remembrance.
