FMA Single Stick Attacks, Disarms, Chokes.
We are always training a variety of techniques within the blending of ranges.
First and foremost we are always attacking the weapon limb and body structure.
Dealing with and working around energy is key.
The disarms are a consequence of attacking as the opportunity presents its self.
The choking is a consequence of attacking and entering into the close quarter range to smother the blunt weapon and crush the airway.
The punion sumbrata flow drill develops attacking with the butt end of your weapon and the skills that accompany you using the different areas (4) of your weapon, which is also range appropriate.
FMA Single Knife Blade Recognition.
I was given these training blades (Thanks Bruce), so we checked them out with a few training methods.
They provide a sound and light function, so your senses of hearing and vision give you a different form of feed back information for blade recognition on the contact of cuts.

Your weapon is telling you where to go, following it is natural, natural movement is efficient and effortless.
FMA Double Stick High Level Drills to Free Flowing.
Within each of these drills, numerous strikes form the combos which are comprised of linking different striking families.
Drill 1 is a 14 beat combo, linking 3 striking families.
Drill 2 is a 13 beat combo, linking 3 striking families.
Drill 3 is a 19 beat combo, linking 3 striking families.
The only thing that makes these drills high level is the high number of beats you need to continuously track to perform, the more ways you learn to move the better, as you transition from one motion to the next.
Drill 4 develops your ability to free flow continuously with offensive and defensive responses/reactions.
All you have rely on is the abilities and qualities you have developed.
Free flowing is your goal in all forms of martial arts, it’s the understanding of different training methods that allow you to achieve this goal sooner.
This is why you need to blend your self perfection training with your self preservation training.
How you train is how you fight.
Training method drills grow from level 1 to level 10, by the time you get to level 10 drills, you are at level 1 of sparring (free flowing) which grows to level 10.
JKD Empty Hand Salute Entry.
Saluting offers many options and complements the striking, trapping, locking, takedown and grappling arts, the roots of saluting are within the Indonesian and Filipino fighting systems.
The technique of saluting is basically a parry and cover put together.
It is used as an entry and consists of different range and hand motions to facilitate close quarter striking and grappling techniques.
In drill 5 the salute leads us to arm control and striking with the horizontal elbow, the arm wrench attacks the elbow joint, dumog attacks a body choke point disrupting their base allowing us to grab head control, then we trap their limb for the vertical elbow strike to the skull, which transitions perfectly into the guillotine choke crushing the throat airway.
In drill 6 we enter in with the salute but cut to his rear punching hand (his cross) by covering the line of attack, which transitions into hand grappling, as we attack with a downward elbow lock, then attack with dumog to disrupt their structure and base for the vertical elbow strike to the skull, leading to head and arm control for the guillotine choke.
(Drill 5 and 6 - No different then ground fighting locks, stand up locks take time and understanding to apply as you take advantage of a moment when available.)
Drill 7 saluting leads us to head steering for spinal manipulation enabling a smooth flow into the rear naked choke, cutting off the blood supply to the brain.

No different than what you put in your body, don’t let your mind tell you what to eat, listen to your body it will tell you what and when you need to eat, trust your instincts they know well before your mind knows.
No different than how you train.
