When nothing could possibly cheer me up...yoga class. šŸ˜‚

I know. I know. But I have never once left a class feeling worse than when I walked in. Not once. In years of teaching and practicing, the mat has never let me down.

There is something that happens in that room…when the breath is intentional and the philosophy is present and the body finally gets an hour to just be, that no amount of lying on the couch can replicate. Trust me, I have tried both.

If you have been in a rut and need something that actually works… comment ā€œINTRO OFFERā€ and I’ll send you the link to our 30-day unlimited pass at Jai. $59. Come see what the fuss is about. šŸ€

This is what actually happens when you practice yoga twice a week.

And I don’t mean the flexibility. That’s just the part that happens to your body while everything else quietly changes underneath it.

The reality most people don’t expect:
šŸ” You sleep differently. Not longer but deeper. Because your nervous system finally gets the signal that it is allowed to let go. Most people don’t realise how much they’ve been holding until it starts to release.
šŸ” You find the gap. That tiny space between something happening and you reacting to it. Yoga doesn’t remove the difficult moments. It gives you a fraction of a second to choose how you meet them. That fraction of a second changes everything.
šŸ” The people around you notice before you do. Six to eight weeks in, something shifts that is visible from the outside before you can name it on the inside. More present. Less reactive. More you.

Yoga doesn’t make your life easier. It makes you more capable of meeting your life.

Two sessions a week is not a fitness commitment. It’s the decision to stop reacting to your life and start responding to it.

Comment YOGA SCHEDULE and I’ll send you our class schedule so you can lock in your two sessions a week. šŸ‘‡

Happy Mother’s Day to the nurturers, the protectors, and the ones who show up every single day with a mother’s heart.

I’ve had such a beautiful day being celebrated and honored as a mom..it’s become a day I truly cherish. But I also know that this day can hold a lot of weight. Because of my own journey, I’m holding space for every version of this story.

Today, I’m looking at:
• The warriors who have fought quiet, uphill battles to grow their families.
• The single parents doing the work of two, filling every gap with double the love.
• The mother figures who stepped in to nurture and lead when life called for it.

Whether you are celebrating with your village, navigating a complex path, or providing that ā€œmotheringā€ energy to those around you, please know you are seen.

To everyone who pours love into others, regardless of the title you hold: thank you for making the world a little softer.

Sending an extra squeeze to anyone who needs it today. ✨

Let me explain. šŸŽ¤

Maternal exhaustion is not fixed by rest alone, because it isn’t a rest problem. It’s a nervous system problem.

When you are responsible for another human being around the clock, your body runs a background program of vigilance that doesn’t switch off just because you sat down. It lives in the jaw, the hips, the chest…in the places where worry and love and depletion all quietly accumulate over months and years.

Yoga works with the nervous system directly. Not just the body. The whole system. And for mothers especially…giving the body permission to finally stand down, even for one hour, changes something that sleep alone cannot touch.

A mother who is well in herself isn’t a luxury. She’s a necessity.

Psst…I’ve got something for you. šŸ˜

For the person who wants to give their mum something that actually means something this year, not something that sits on a shelf.

A Jai Yoga gift card gives her an hour that is entirely, completely hers. No mental load. No one asking her for anything. Just movement, breath, philosophy, and the kind of stillness that reminds you who you are.

Because the best thing you can give a mother isn’t something she can unwrap. It’s something she can actually feel.

Comment GIFT CARD and I’ll send you all the details on Jai gift cards. šŸ‘‡

This one’s for you 🫶

For the mum who has given everything to everyone this week and hasn’t stopped long enough to notice what that’s costing her.

You don’t need a reason to prioritise yourself. You don’t need to earn an hour on the mat. The body keeps score of everything you carry - the exhaustion, the mental load, the low-level tension you’ve stopped noticing because it’s been there so long.

Yoga gives you somewhere to put it down. Not permanently. Just long enough to remember who you are underneath all of it.

Mother’s Day is May 10th. But honestly - don’t wait for a designated day to take care of yourself.

I saw someone say yoga is just stretching and honestly…same. That is exactly what we have made it look like. We took one of the most sophisticated systems of inner engineering ever created and turned it into a flexibility class. Outstanding work, everyone.

Here is what most people don’t know. Yoga means union. Not stretch. Not movement. The dissolution of the boundary between what you experience as yourself and everything else that exists.

Patanjali gave us eight limbs of practice. Eight. The physical postures are one of them. The other seven are concerned with something far more fundamental: how you relate to others, how you breathe, how you direct your attention, and ultimately the nature of the one who is doing all of this.

We kept the one limb that photographs well. The other seven have been quietly waiting.
At Jai, we teach the whole system. Not just the poses, but the philosophy, the breathwork, the inquiry that makes the movement actually mean something. Because a practice that only lives in your body will only ever take you so far.

The instruction manual exists. Most studios just forgot to hand it out.

Comment SUTRAS and I’ll send you a beginner’s guide to the Eight Limbs, the part of yoga nobody taught you. šŸ‘‡
