It’s the parent. 🏒

During our LIVE recording at The Hockey Barn in Atlanta, we got into something that doesn’t get talked about enough in youth hockey.

Parent cuts.

Yep. Sometimes coaches pass on a player because they simply don’t want to deal with the parents.

The complaining. The drama. The behavior in the stands. The headaches at tournaments.

And unfortunately, the kid can end up paying the price.

Kyle Kinze shares something interesting about how he handles watching his own kids play when he’s not coaching.

He intentionally stands off in a corner by himself.

Not because he doesn’t care, but because he knows how easy it is to get caught up in the emotion of the game.

And sometimes the best thing we can do as hockey parents is just watch, enjoy, and keep our mouths shut. 😂

We spend so much time teaching our kids how to be good teammates. Maybe we should make sure we’re being good hockey parents too. The Hockey Barn
