Monday is looking beautiful for baseball! Players will be receiving their medals this week. Let’s play ball!

It is a beautiful day for ball! We will be playing tonight. We don’t have diamond time on Labour Day next week but will play for 2 weeks after due to all the rain we saw on Mondays. Tonight we will be reviewing the rules we learned so far and getting back into the swing of things! See everyone at 6!

It is still raining and there is a chance of thunderstorms. The field is a mess. We have to cancel again this week. Sorry everyone! We will be in touch via text to all families. We will be extending the season by a couple weeks. We aren’t sure why the bad weather seems to come on Mondays!

Monday showers…again! We are hoping the skies will clear enough to play but it isn’t looking promising. Stay tuned for an announcement later this afternoon about whether we can play. We will be extending the season by a couple weeks to make up for the dates we were rained out. More info to come!

Hey players and volunteers- there is a risk of thunderstorms this afternoon into tonight. At 1pm it was raining at the park. We have connected with the city and checked various weather forecasts and all are now indicating rain this afternoon into this evening with chance of thunderstorms. They weren’t before! Given the condition of the field (kind of muddy with a couple puddle areas near the benches and batter area) and the forecast for more rain this afternoon. We are going to cancel tonight’s practice and game. I will be checking with the city about make up days or if we can extend our season. I will message families this afternoon.

We are super disappointed but don’t want to wait and cancel it last minute. It would be different if we hadn’t had so much rain all weekend long and the risk of thunder and lightning.

Mondays have been such a challenging day this summer weather wise!

It is currently raining at the field in Cornwall with quite a few black clouds looming over head. The field is also quite a bit muddy. We will be connecting with the city and making a decision about whether ball is a go for tonight this afternoon. The biggest issue is the field conditions. Mondays have been so up and down this summer weather-wise! Sorry everyone! We will reach out to everyone when we know for sure.

So far at baseball, we have learned the following rules:

Drop the bat after you hit

The foul line

Don’t touch home plate but cross the line near home plate to complete your run

Only one runner per base

Our players are doing amazing things!

It’s baseball night! We are going to start off with our warm up, do 3 new warm up games (messy backyard, 4 corners and zipper) then play some ball! It’s another hot one, so remember your water!

Just a reminder that next week we don’t have the field due to the Civic Holiday, so our next baseball night will be in 2 weeks.

Somehow it is always wettest or hottest on Mondays! We will be playing tonight- bring lots of water as we will be breaking often for water breaks. If you are uncomfortable playing in the heat, no problem!

Baseball is a GO tonight! Remember to bring lots of water!

Hats and shirts are in and will be at the diamond tonight. For anyone not able to attend, the shirts and hats will be brought to every game!

Bad news, players!

The City has checked out the diamond and it is a mud pit, so we have been asked to cancel this week.

I will be texting families as soon as I can as well.

We were so hopeful with the rain stopping!

We will see everyone in 2 weeks (July 8, no diamond time on July 1).

We don’t yet know details about make up weeks. We will keep you posted!

I think the rain is going to clear up and allow us to play! The diamond might be wet, but we are going to have fun just the same. Shirts and hats have arrived and will be distributed. If your player isn’t coming, they can get their hat in 2 weeks. We don’t have the diamond on Canada Day (next Monday).
