6 days in NYC with 8 of our incredible faculty — and what a trip it was!

We packed our first few days with sightseeing, a little shopping, incredible food, and of course, as much dance, theatre and inspiration as we could possibly squeeze in!

Then came 3 unforgettable days at the DanceOne Teacher Summit, training alongside some of the most inspiring humans in our industry. We had the opportunity to take class from and learn from artists including Stacey Tookey, Shannon Mather, Francisco Gella, Tiler Peck, Melanie Moore, Lauren Ritchie, Billy Griffin and SO many more.

We even got to witness Paula Abdul receive her Icon Award at the annual A.C.E. Awards — such a special NYC moment! ✨

And because apparently we weren’t busy enough… between the 8 of us, we managed to squeeze in 10 Broadway shows!

Triple Heat Dance Presents - Disney’s NEWSIES JR.

Newsies JR. will be playing at the Regier Theatre this Thursday, July 30th. There will be two shows, one at 2:30pm and a second at 6:30pm. The inspiring 60-minute musical, designed for school-aged performers, is based on the 1992 Disney film Newsies and the 2012 Broadway production of the same name. The cast includes 26 students, ages 8-17, led by our formidable summer faculty Stella Swanson, Kristin Webb and Paul Gerritsen.

We hope you can catch our production of Disney’s Newsies JR.! You’ll be doing flips for the rousing tale of Jack Kelly, a charismatic newsboy and leader of a band of young newsies in Manhattan. When titans of publishing raise distribution prices at the newsies’ expense, Jack rallies young workers from across the city to strike against the unfair conditions and fight for what’s right! Adapted especially for young performers, this musical features a Tony Award®-winning score by Alan Menken and Jack Feldman and a book by Tony Award® winner Harvey Fierstein, and includes rousing songs like “Carrying the Banner,” “Seize the Day,” and “King of New York.” Newsies JR. is packed with nonstop thrills and a timeless message perfect for the whole family and every audience.

A few words from Brae…

My name is Braelyn, I’ve been dancing at triple heat for two years. My favorite styles are lyrical, jazz and hip hop, especially hip hop. Dance has given me so much, it’s given me a feeling of purpose and meaning, aswell as unforgettable friendships. I’ll definitely miss the people the most, it wouldn’t be the same without them they truly make dance a home. Next year I’m super excited to travel and finally get out of the valley! I’m endlessly grateful for triple heat and everything they have done for me.

We have loved getting to know you .sar thanks for sharing your last two years with us. We hope you have a wonderful time travelling and enjoying some time off. All the best to you ❤️
