New Podcast: Taming "Food Noise" & Healing Your Body After Separation & Major Life Transitions
Dieting was never actually about health. It was designed to keep women small, compliant, and distracted from their true power. 🛑
For decades, we’ve been conditioned to tie our self-worth to a number on a scale. But in our 40s, 50s, and 60s, that constant restriction catches up with us—showing up as total exhaustion, hypervigilance, and relentless "food noise."
It’s time to tear up the old rulebook.
This weeks podcast episode, Taming "Food Noise" & Healing Your Nervous System After Major Life Shifts, we break down why we were taught to diet in the first place, how emotional eating acts as a coping mechanism for stored stress, and how to start working WITH your body instead of fighting it. 🎙️✨

We tend to think trauma work is for the big, obvious things that happened years ago.
But sometimes there isn’t one thing.
Sometimes it’s an aging parent who needs you, a child who’s struggling, tension in your marriage, a job change, grief, menopause, financial stress… and maybe a few old things you’ve been carrying for years thrown into the mix.
Bing. Bang. Boom.
Until one day you realize you’re either constantly on edge, overwhelmed and reacting to everything — or you’ve gone the other direction and feel flat, exhausted and disconnected.
And you’re wondering, What happened to me? I used to be able to handle things.
Sometimes your nervous system has simply reached the point where it can’t keep absorbing more without support.
This is one of the things I love about Gentle Trauma Release. We don’t have to dig around looking for some dramatic event to justify why you’re struggling.
We can work with what your system is carrying now — helping reduce some of that accumulated stress so you can breathe again, think more clearly, and access the capable, resilient woman who is still very much there.
Not because everything in your life suddenly becomes easy.
But because you have more capacity to meet it.
This clip is from my conversation with Carla Coffey on the The Next Hill Fitness Podcast,
where we talked about trauma, resilience, movement and what it can look like to work with your nervous system instead of continually asking it to push through.
Carla asked some great questions that reflect what she's noticing coming up with women in her circle.

And perhaps the biggest fall trend of all...
Not waking up September 1st and deciding your body needs consequences for having a good summer.
Because there's a difference between thinking...
I'd really like to feel stronger, more energized and back into some routines that feel good.
and...
Okay. That's enough. Now I need to "make up" for my summer

Comment RICH for the episode 💜
Here’s what I noticed after a 2 week, busy vacation without counting calories, macros or steps.
Bloat and puffiness from "trouble areas" markedly reduced.
Yes I did eat mindfully (never stuffed), took some of my regular supplements, had homemade meals sometimes, and stayed pretty active in a non-structured way.
But the big thing was having FUN.
Here’s what I've witnessed with women I've supported.
As you get HAPPIER and the rest comes more naturally.
Yes, I can help with taming the food noise and rocking a strong body in midlife.
But I get the most satisfaction from seeing a woman truly LIKE herself and build JOY into her life.
That's what I help with!
Let's chat if you’re saying "yes, please!" to actually feeling happy again.
Procrastination (long term and problematic--not just here and there) is often a sign of a nervous system that doesn't feel safe.
So of course mindset work and motivation don't work.
That was very much the case for my client who'd experienced long term relational abuse and DV.
After 3 months and only 5 Gentle Trauma Release coaching sessions, she's moving forward in an aligned, purposeful and joyful way in key areas of her life.
This is what's possible when your nervous system feels lighter, and you feel resilient, resourceful and creative again.
