Speed Skating BC is once again hosting a Fundamentals Leader coaching clinic on September 19, 2026 beginning at 9am. This clinic is perfect for older skaters, and parents looking to get involved as an on-ice assistant or beginning your pathway to becoming a fully accredited coach through the NCCP pathways

Speed Skating Canada is proud to introduce First & Fast Strides, presented by Bell, our sport’s new skating development program. The program consists of ten different levels, which are divided into two segments. There are benchmark skills to be completed within each level and rewards associated with the achievement of those skills, including pins, stickers and other optional incentives.

The Dawson Creek Speed Skating Club is a proud member to be a part of the First & Fast Strides community and uses the curriculum to deliver our Learn to Skate and Learn to Skate Fast programs. For more information visit our website

Speed Skating used to take place just steps from Central School in Dawson Creek. Did you also know that we are the oldest speed skating club in BC dating back to 1955

In the 60's locals raced on an outdoor oval near the school — cold air, sharp blades, and snowbanks all around.
