For the coming 2019-20 season, Gabriel and both Davids have decided to focus on their post-secondary education. As such, Team Kwok will no longer be active competitively for the upcoming season(s). We have truly learned a lot and enjoyed competing against the many talented curlers in our Province. As our curlers go their separate ways, we wish them all the best in achieving their career goals.

Another season for the high school curlers in North Delta / Surrey has come to a close, finishing off the season with some fun cup challenges. Huge thanks to the Delta Thistle Curling Club and Patrick Prade for opening up the facilities for the high school curlers. Last but not least, huge thanks goes to Lisa Hignell for being the coordinator and driving force behind this program year after year.

Curlers and fans: if you have not seen it already, watch Netflix series called 'Losers', 4th episode, 'Stone Cold'. Lots of fun and interesting learning about a historic moment in our sport - highly recommended https://www.netflix.com/ca/title/80198306

Team Duncan-Wu curled very well today and we weren’t able to keep up with them this time. Unfortunately, this means we didn’t qualify for provincials at this regional playdown. We will spend some time reflecting, and make a decision around the upcoming U18 open playdown. We are very grateful to Chief Umpire Karen Sauer for all her work today, especially in the midst of a power outage. We are also grateful for all the hospitality from the wonderful staff and volunteers at the Mission Curling Club, and the Mission Optimist Club. Best wishes to all the teams still competing, and dealing with the extra stress of having games postponed because of the power outage.

2nd game underway. Before the game started, Umpire Karen Sauer invited a curler to tell a joke, and our Jarrett volunteered. He asked, “Why do I like squid so much? ... Because they’re always Kraken me up!” 😂
