Skating is a great way to meet new friends, build self esteem, and just for exercise!! Skating lessons are not just for those who would like to figure skate! It helps hockey and ringette players learn the basics, speed, and how to manouver on the ice!! Skating is a great sport to get into for those that would just like to skate but that do not want to play hockey, ringette or to figure skate!!

⛸️ CanSkate starts soon — and we still have spaces available!

If you’ve been thinking about getting your child on the ice, this is the perfect place to start.

Our CanSkate programs run Monday and Thursday nights at the Flight Exec Centre and are taught by certified, accredited coaches who make learning to skate FUN.

CanSkate isn’t just for future figure skaters. It’s for everyone.

First time on skates? ✅
Recreational skater? ✅
Want stronger hockey skating skills? ✅
Interested in figure skating? ✅
Just want to feel more confident on the ice? ✅

Skaters learn everything from their very first steps to the more advanced skating skills you see used in hockey and figure skating.

And for our skating families:
• No bonds
• Fundraising is optional
• Lots of encouragement
• Lots of fun

You don’t have to choose a skating “path” before you start. Just come learn to skate, build confidence and see where it takes you. ❤️

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

We invite all members and families from our Learn to Skate, Hockey Skills, and Figure Skating programs to attend our Annual General Meeting.

WE NEED YOUR HELP!

The North Dorchester Skating Club is currently looking for volunteers to join our Board of Directors and help shape the future of our programs.

No experience is necessary—just a willingness to support local children and families through the sport of skating.

“Volunteers are not paid—not because they are worthless, but because they are priceless.”

Our club simply cannot operate without the dedication of volunteers and the support of our community. By volunteering, you help provide opportunities for skaters of all ages and abilities to learn, grow, and succeed.

And that’s a wrap on the 2025/2026 skating season! ⛸️✨

A huge congratulations to all of our skaters for their hard work, dedication, and determination in reaching their goals this season. We are so proud of everyone who successfully passed tests at both our March and May Test Days — what an incredible accomplishment! 👏

Thank you to our coaches, families, volunteers, and skaters for making this season such a success. We can’t wait to welcome everyone back to the ice in September!
