t's February...a month strongly associated with hearts and romance.
For me it's a great time to focus on self-love and caring for my own heart. Regular fitness helps me sleep better, have more energy for the people who count on me, manage my mental health and maintain a good cardiorespiratory system. I'm paying close attention to that these days, and I invite you to check in with yourself and see where you can show yourself a little more self-love, too.
A note about group fitness this week: there is no class this Wednesday, Feb. 8.
All classes are $10 each (paid by e-transfer before 9pm the night before your class.)
Your first class is complimentary!

It's Canadian Mental Health Week.
canfitpro has started a challenge and I’ve been tagged to share with you how fitness and mental health go together in my life.
For me, good mental health doesn't mean "happy all the time”. It means managing and experiencing a full range of emotions.
When my mood goes dark, I don’t feel like exercising. When the emotional load gets heavy it feels exhausting.
When I actually DO exercise; it helps. When I work out by myself, FOR myself, I get to be in charge. I get to push as hard as I want. I take as many breaks as I want. I stop half-way through a set if I’m not feeling it. I get to try again.
I can’t control everything that happens in my life. But I can find my power in movement. I can be in charge of that.
Usually the rest of the world falls away and I can get my head in a different and better space for a while.
It makes me a better mom and that’s my ultimate “why”.
I know first-hand that exercise doesn’t cure or eliminate mental illness. But I know for 100% certainty that it helps.
Here's where to find out more if you're interested:

I’d love to hear how movement helps you, if you feel like sharing.

Sunday Funday
I’m dead.
But grateful for the space and ability to move as hard as I can.
Truly so lucky to be healthy. I’ll never take it for granted. Even when curled in the fetal position from my own workout.

I love interval-style workouts because of how they make me feel. I like to feel my heart pumping really fast...and I LOVE how it feels to recover. I like the variety of resistance, mobility, cardio and coordination that happens in our interval classes. I feel alert, energized and challenged and that helps me with the rest of my day and the rest of my life!
Why do you like interval training?
Not sure? Why don't you come and find out? I would love to see you. There are always options and choices in every workout so your needs will be met.
Wednesdays at 9:00 a.m.
$10 E-transfer by 9pm the night before your class to receive your zoom code.
