Trying to be a meal-prep girlie?

You don’t need to spend your whole Sunday cooking and filling 20 matching containers. Most of us don’t have the time, and honestly, by Wednesday nobody wants that chicken anyway.

Start with the part that makes the biggest difference: your protein.

Just pick one or two of these each week:

- Cook a batch of chicken, ground turkey or beef
- Shred a rotisserie chicken for wraps, salads and bowls
- Hard-boil some eggs or bake egg muffins
- Prep overnight oats with Greek yogurt or protein powder
- Make a batch of turkey meatballs

Then keep a few easy grab-and-go options in the fridge, like Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, tuna packets or deli turkey, for the days you didn’t plan ahead.

That’s it. A little prep, and you’re not standing in front of the fridge at 6 p.m. wondering what’s for dinner.

Done is better than perfect. Even in the kitchen.

Save this for your next grocery run, and send it to your meal-prep buddy.

Colder weather is officially here, and healthy eating does NOT have to mean cold salads and boring meals.

Soups, stews, chili, and curries can be an easy way to build a balanced meal with protein, fibre, carbs, and plenty of nutrients, all while actually feeling satisfying.

Cozy food can still support your goals!

Trying to be a morning girlie?

Here’s the secret: the best mornings start the night before. When you’re trying to get out the door for a workout, every decision you make before 5/6 a.m. is one more chance to hit snooze.

So take care of it tonight:
✔️ Lay out your workout clothes
✔️ Pack your gym bag and leave it by the door
✔️ Fill your water bottle and pop it in the fridge
✔️ Prep your breakfast or set up the coffee
✔️ Decide on tomorrow’s workout before bed
✔️ Get to bed early enough that the alarm isn’t punishment

Ten minutes tonight saves you a rushed, stressful morning, and makes it a lot more likely you actually go.

Morning you will thank night you. 🤍

Save this for tonight, and send it to the friend you work out with.

The "send “t to the friend you work out with” line keeps a little of the bestie angle you wanted.

Women are often told to lift weights for muscle, metabolism, and body composition.

But your skeleton benefits too.

Bone is living tissue, and it responds to mechanical loading. When you strength train, bone cells called osteocytes sense that stress and help regulate pathways involved in bone remodeling. One important part of that process is a reduction in sclerostin, which helps support bone formation.

And this is not just theory.

A 2025 systematic review and meta-analysis found that resistance training improved bone mineral density in postmenopausal women, particularly at the lumbar spine, femoral neck, and total hip. The authors also found better effects with higher-intensity training, around 3 sessions per week, and longer training durations.

So no, lifting heavy is not just about aesthetics.

It’s one of the best things women can do to support muscle, function, and long-term bone health.

Put the detox plan down.

No skipping breakfast tomorrow. No extra hour on the treadmill to “burn it off.” No guilt.

You had a big meal with people you love. That’s not something to fix. It’s one day out of 365, and it doesn’t undo the work you’ve been putting in.

The “I’ll get back on track tomorrow” mindset is what keeps so many of us stuck in the all-or-nothing cycle: overdo it, feel guilty, restrict, repeat.

So here’s the plan. Have your next normal meal. Drink some water. Go for your usual walk or do your regular workout. Carry on.

That’s the whole reset.

Tired of always starting over? That’s exactly what we help with. DM us “START” and let’s talk.

Send this to the friend who’s already planning her detox.

That post-workout stretch may be doing more than you think.

A 2026 randomized crossover study found that adding static stretching after resistance training was associated with a quicker return toward baseline for measures of vascular and autonomic recovery compared with resistance training alone. (PubMed)

Important caveat: this was a small study in 27 healthy men, so it doesn’t prove stretching dramatically improves recovery for everyone.

But it’s another good reason not to rush out of the gym the second your last set is done.

A few minutes of controlled static stretching may be a simple way to support the transition from training back toward recovery.

If change feels hard right now, you’re not doing it wrong.

The habits you’re trying to shift took years to build. They’re not going to disappear in a week, and that has nothing to do with willpower.

Where most of us get stuck is trying to fix everything at once. New meal plan, new workouts, new routine, all starting Monday. It’s too much, and when it falls apart we blame ourselves instead of the plan.

So pick one thing. Keep it small enough that you can do it on your worst day. Give it time to get easy before you add anything else.

You’re not behind. You’re building something that lasts.
This is exactly how we coach: one habit at a time, at your pace, with someone in your corner. DM us “START” if you want to talk about what your one thing could be.

Save this for the days it feels like it’s not working, and send it to a friend who’s being too hard on herself.

Ever notice how the hardest part of a workout is sometimes just starting it?

Especially on the days when you’re tired, busy, stressed, hormonal, or simply not in the mood.

But those days matter.

The anterior midcingulate cortex (aMCC) is involved in effort, persistence and continuing toward a goal when something feels difficult.

And when it comes to exercise habits, research suggests that consistency is something we can actually practice.

In a randomized controlled trial of 94 new gym members, researchers taught one group simple habit-building strategies focused on cues + consistent repetition.

After 8 weeks, that group significantly increased their moderate-to-vigorous physical activity compared with the control group. They also improved their use of cues and practice consistency.

The takeaway?

You do not need to wake up motivated every day.

You need enough repetitions of:

“I don’t really feel like doing this… but I’m doing it anyway.”

Because every time you follow through, you’re practicing the behaviour you want to become more automatic.

You’re not just training your body.

You’re training consistency.

Save this one for the next day motivation is nowhere to be found. 🤍

Can intermittent fasting help some people lose weight?

Absolutely.

But probably not for the reason Instagram has led you to believe.

A 2025 randomized crossover trial studied overweight or obese women using two different 8-hour eating windows:

☀️ Early: 8 a.m.–4 p.m.
🌙 Late: 1 p.m.–9 p.m.

Researchers aimed to keep their usual food quality and quantity consistent.

The result?

Neither fasting schedule significantly improved insulin sensitivity, 24-hour glucose, blood lipids, inflammatory markers or oxidative stress markers.

In other words: simply squeezing your food into an 8-hour window did not suddenly create a metabolic advantage. (PubMed)

Fasting CAN still be a useful tool.

For some people, having fewer hours available to eat makes it easier to consume fewer calories overall. It can add structure. It can reduce mindless evening snacking. And if you genuinely enjoy eating that way, great.

But you do not need to:
❌ skip breakfast
❌ stop eating after 6 p.m.
❌ survive until noon on coffee
❌ cram all your nutrition into a tiny window

…to lose body fat.

The basics are considerably less exciting:

Eat enough protein.
Eat mostly nutrient-dense foods.
Manage overall energy intake.
Move your body.
Strength train.
Sleep.
And choose eating habits you can actually maintain.

Fasting is a strategy.

It isn’t magic.
