Come celebrate International Day of Dance with a joyous 90 minutes of contemporary movement! We’ll start with a thorough and sweaty warmup consisting of mobility, strength, and breathe work. Following, we will use across-the-floor sequences to challenge both artistry and athleticism. Class will culminate with a choreographed combo. Be ready to sweat, be ready to laugh, be ready to lose yourself in movement!

This class is aimed at dancers 14+, modifications and adaptations will be offered throughout. Register now to reserve your spot, this class will fill up!

It has been such an honour to work with Eric Awuah over the past few years. Not only has he run some incredible workshops for our dancers, but he has brought his art to various seniors’ facilities throughout Edmonton with the Aya Project.

Over the past season, he created “Ingrained Voices” a contemporary African dance piece
that draws on the idea that our bodies carry the voices of those who came before us. In this work, movement becomes a way of listening—listening to ancestral voices that guide us through both the everyday world and the mysteries of the realms. The dance explored how these voices can give strength, clarity, and direction, helping us make sense of who we are and where we are going. It was performed as part of Motif Moves 2026 and was thoroughly enjoyed by our dancers and crowd! (Photos here by: )

Our collaborative friendship and artistic connection with and their dancers and team has been ongoing for quite a few years! (Too many to count!). CRIPSiE (The Collaborative Radically Integrated Performers Society in Edmonton) is an Edmonton-based collective of artists, including people who experience disability and their allies. We challenge dominant stories of disability and other forms of oppression through high-quality crip and mad performance art, video art, as well as public education and outreach programs.

Our Annual General Meeting will be held this Sunday, March 15, 2026 on-line from 6-8pm. All current members of Orchesis Dance Society are invited to attend. The Notice of AGM, Agenda and AGM package was emailed to members on February 15, 2026. If you did not receive this information and you are a member, please contact Heather Taschuk immediately at

The meeting link will be emailed to members before noon the day of the meeting.

Starting Monday March 2, Andi Fitzgerald will be teaching our community jazz classes in the style of Broadway Jazz!

After moving through a stylized full body warmup, Andi will introduce key techniques to support this theatrical dance style. Dancers will learn exciting choreographed sequences across the floor to build strength and style. Class will culminate with a combination which dancers are given the opportunity to perform for their peers. Andi takes a dancer centered approach and is happy to modify throughout class to ensure all dancers are both challenged and safe.
