The Mustangs invite you to our Junior B tryouts.

We are looking for players to be a part of our team for the 2023/24 hockey season. We are interested in players that competed at an elite minor hockey level and would like to continue to play at a high level throughout their junior years.

We offer 2 practices/week, 2 games/week with a 38 game regular season, plus team functions throughout the year.

Our game against the Leduc Co-op Riggers last night ended in an exciting 6-6 tie!

Come and cheer on the Edmonton Mustangs tomorrow Sunday, September 18th for our last exhibition game at Confederation Arena against Edmonton Royals 7:45 pm. Go Mustangs!

Edmonton Mustangs beat the Spruce Grove Regals in their first pre season exhibition game on Sunday with a score of 6-2.

Come and cheer the Mustangs on at the Leduc Rec Centre on Friday, September 16th 8 pm against the Leduc Co-op Riggers!

STUDENT JOB OPPORTUNITY:
ATHLETIC TRAINER JUNIOR B HOCKEY TEAM


Edmonton Mustangs Jr. B Hockey Team/Capital Junior Hockey League
Athletic Trainer position/Safety person

Full time - 38 scheduled league games and some practices if trainer needs to work with the players on specific issues.

Qualifications:
Knowledge of the game of hockey, commitment to the team, communicate with players, parents, coaching staff and management, meet time requirements, completion of Hockey Canada Safety program (will provide time to do this)

Responsibilities:
- Maintaining fully stocked first aid kit and bring to all games/practices
- Implements effective emergency plan with the team
- Recognizing life-threatening and significant injuries, being prepared to deal with serious injury
- Managing minor injuries and referring players to medical professionals if necessary
- Recognizing injuries that requires removing player from action and coordinating return to play
- Communication with players, coaches, physicians, therapists, paramedical personnel, parents
- Maintaining player injury report log
- Regular check of player's equipment for quality and maintenance
- Risk management to prevent injuries
- Commitment to games, team functions, team meetings, tournaments, exhibition games, and practices when necessary.
