Resistance training refers to a type of physical activity that enhances both muscle strength and endurance by engaging a specific muscle or group of muscles against external opposition. This type of training can be accomplished through various methods, including utilizing the resistance provided by bodyweight exercises such as push-ups or squats, as well as incorporating equipment like bands, dumbbells, kettlebells, barbells, and similar items into the exercises.
Regular resistance training can increase bone density, improve joint function, enhance cardiovascular health, boost metabolism, and contribute to weight management. Additionally, it can improve insulin sensitivity, promote better sleep quality, enhance cognitive function, and reduce the risk of chronic conditions such as osteoporosis, heart disease, and type 2 diabetes. π±ππ¦΅πͺποΈββοΈ
