Good evening residents!
Rose Herman that is spearheading the petition against the naturalization project by the City of Edmonton/Epcor. They will be back tomorrow in front of our leisure centre by the main garden bed again, most likely from 2:00PM - 7:00PM again. If the time changes I will let you know.
For those that haven't signed yet can come down tomorrow! Information regarding the naturalization is below:
In response to the City of Edmonton/Epcor plans for “naturalizing” our storm ponds, the communities of the Windermere area have established this joint coalition to influence the city and Epcor to meet their commitments. This is in respect to:
1) proper consultation with residents and community organizations, and
2) not negatively affect residents’ use, enjoyment, and investment.
The latest plans appear to implement extensive tree and shrub planting, reduce maintenance, block site lines, and potentially affect residents ability to utilize and enjoy these spaces, negatively impact safety and property values, through “naturalization” beyond what has previously been communicated.
We encourage all residents to stop by tomorrow and sign the petition in order to help maintain the beautiful landscaped areas we currently have! We hope to see you all tomorrow!

Therefore, we will be setting up a table this Saturday from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm, near the leisure centre, to gather signatures from residents in support of our efforts. Already the coalition has garnered 500 signatures from one other neighbourhood petition setup.
We encourage all residents to stop by tomorrow and sign the petition in order to help maintain the beautiful landscaped areas we currently have! We hope to see you all tomorrow!
Good afternoon residents!
We were able to get the parts in and the boiler is back up and operational for the long weekend so no cold pool!
Thank you everyone for your patience!
Good afternoon residents! Our outdoor pool boiler needs some repairs so it is currently off. We are hoping to get the parts in tomorrow afternoon and have the boiler back running by the end of this week before the long weekend! I will keep you all posted!
Good evening residents! With the orange warning issue for a severe thunderstorm on its way, and a tornado watch, the pool will be closed for the rest of the evening as our staff take precautions and put away equipment and brace for the weather.
Thank you everyone for your cooperation!
Good afternoon residents!
Due to the air quality increasing past 10 for the AQ quality index we will be closing the pool shortly. If the air quality drops below 10, we will reopen. We will keep everyone posted. Thank you everyone for your cooperation!

Good morning residents!
We are loving that we see lots of residents at the pool all throughout the day, even when it's cloudy out!
Lots of bodies means.... lots of lost and found items! If any of these items are yours, please head down to the facility to pick them up! They are folded and are displayed in the common area inside the facility!
Good morning residents!
As we head into our first week of swimming lessons I wanted to give everyone a breakdown on how the facility will work during this time!
-During group swimming lessons (Thursdays, Fridays from 9:30 - 10:45AM), certain areas of the pool will be sectioned off. The deep end will remain open to members to use during this time.
Some of you had questions regarding the lessons so I thought I'd place a FAQ here below to answer some general enquiries:
1.) If the spots are all full, is there a waitlist?
-Yes! If you are interested in being placed on the waitlist in case someone backs out, please email me.
2.) If the lessons are popular would you consider running additional classes?
-This year unfortunately no, but if the lessons are successful we will consider opening more next year! This year's pilot classes will give us a better idea for next year.
3.) Will I still be able to swim if I show up during those times?
-Yes, only small sections of the pool will be closed for the lessons.
4.) Are the lessons certified and can they be transferred to other institutions?
-No, lesson at our facility are not transferrable
5.) Will you provide lessons for older kids in the future?
-Currently no, but it may be something we will consider next year.
6.) Do you provide survival swimming lessons?
-Not as this stage.
We are extremely fortunate that two of our veteran lifeguards are also certified swimming instructors, which is why we are able to provide the lessons this year. We hope that the program is successful and can add another layer of programming at the centre for residents to enjoy.
We do ask those that are registered to please be patient as we work out the kinks this year! Thank you everyone!

Good afternoon residents!
The weather looks sunny and fantastic which means a great time to head to the pool to relax! Due to frequent incidents at the pool we wanted to remind everyone of the rules at the facility:
1.) Lifeguards on deck are LIFEGUARDING. Their role is to maintain the safety of all residents at the pool and ensure rules & regulations are adhered to. If a lifeguard notifies a parent/guardian regarding a child in the pool due to any situation (safety, rules), the parent/guardian must respect the lifeguard's decisions. Lifeguards have the authority to remove any swimmer from the pool, and when rules are not followed, ask the swimmers to leave the facility.
2.) Lifeguards are NOT babysitters. Any parent/guardian that leaves their child at the pool with no supervision and/or does not adhere to the rules & regulations will have their child removed from the water and sat on deck until the parent is notified. Repeat offences will be documented, and where necessary, residents will be asked to leave the facility and suspension to access may be invoked.
3.) Children under 6 MUST be in arms reach of an adult/guardian. This means if your child is under 6 and in the water, the adult/guardian must be in the water with the child at all times.
4.) All residents must have their fob keys on them at all times. Staff may request to see a resident's fob key at random to ensure all swimmers are members of the facility.
5.) Members may bring up to 5 guests with them to the pool. Guests must follow all rules & regulations of the facility. If a resident leaves the facility, the guests must leave as well. Any guests left behind will be asked to leave. Guests that violate any rules & regulations at the facility will be asked to leave and any damages incurred will be charged back to the resident's expense.
6.) Share the space - we ask residents to be kind and share the pool area. Seating is limited so please be kind and take only what space you need so others can enjoy the pool as well. If you bring food to the facility, we ask that residents clean up after themselves, using the garbage bins on deck as provided. Remember: FOOD AND DRINK ARE NOT PERMITTED IN THE POOL.
The recent spikes in incidents at the facility, including jump ins at the pool means that we will be enforcing all rules. Our goal is to maintain safety for all our residents and for everyone to enjoy the facility!
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out! Thank you everyone for your cooperation!
